  1. Might have to hit some delayed harvest streams. I need a serious gear upgrade and have to get on it soon.
  2. Turned into a pretty nice day in downtown Asheville. Mid 50s and sun peeking out
  3. A lot of the global models keep most if not all of the moisture to the south. I won't complain
  4. The Euro has been super suppressed lately and wrong in many instances
  5. 17 here last night.. 2nd coldest night of the year behind only early November when it was 15.. odd winter
  6. I still wouldn't sleep on late next week. Euro still has some nice amounts for the higher elevations
  7. Pretty surprised I even had a light dusting in downslope city. Usually only happens with the strongest of nwfs
  8. Asheville could get a quick half inch from that band I think
  9. Looks like a heavy band near Met and going towards Buncombe
  10. Interesting setup today. There was accumulating snow (dusting to half inch) south of downtown near Reynolds and Biltmore but nothing stuck in West Asheville or downtown. Guess it was how the bands setup Tomorrow I'm going with my dad to Banner Elk to look at some property, snow should be lighter then but hope to see quite a bit on the ground.
  11. Had a nice snow shower move through downtown AVL. Good sized flakes but too warm to stick
  12. Euro dropped a big snow on WNC mountains next Friday..
  13. Theres a bit of a southwesterly orientation of the flow looking at radar and I can smell the paper mill in downtown Asheville.
  14. Already almost 50 in Marion maybe you guys can get some convective snow showers
  15. It will be an interesting day tomorrow in Asheville. NWS calls for some rain in the valley with a high in the 40s.
  16. It's a lot warmer than i expected even in Asheville its not that bad. Mid 40's when they forecasted 30's. Looks like there was a good dusting here but it was pretty much gone by 8 a.m. I expect similar amounts tomorrow here
  17. Shouldn't giving the winter a grade..1. Wait until April and 2. Have it's own thread?
  18. And this https://www.weather.gov/jkl/198704_snowstorm
  19. Best I could come up with http://climate.ncsu.edu/climate/winter/event_details?e=117
  20. Looks like we will be following severe weather soon
  21. Of course as soon as i post this the Euro looks less impressive and doesn't dig the trough as deep..
  22. No doubt. I once had car trouble on the way back from a job interview in Wilmington and was broke down in Lumberton. The people there were nice and helpful albeit a little rough around the edges. There are fine people all across NC.
  23. Really the whole 74 corridor from Wadesboro to Lumberton up to Fayetteville is probably lowest on the list of NC places to live due to high poverty levels, crime rates, and overall lack of things to do
  24. I think the setup for later next week is the best of the season for NWFS. The orientation of the moisture looks good and with the ,low bombing out near the northeast it could be a good one... The GFS looks juicy
