  1. Up here at least, late May through June was pretty dry. The rains really started the first week of July.
  2. Don’t you always say that the old timers claim winter doesn’t start until the rivers are full? If that’s true, it should start any day now.
  3. High of 58° and .66” here. We are at the misery mist portion of the event now.
  4. For me it's golf. I love playing in the evenings after work until it's too dark to see the flagstick. Hard to get 9 in after work as we move later in the month. Conversely, I like the shorter days leading into winter. It gives me a feeling of comfort that I can only think of as snug. I guess I would just say that I like seasons in season. Except for mud season, I have no use for that.
  5. I’ve always said the worst thing to be in the NFL isn’t bad, it’s boring. The Dolphins have been like that for years. No excitement, no anticipation and just plain mediocre. At least with Tyreek Hill there is some pizzaz and they are more fun to watch.
  6. Looks like 3” crushed granite. He wants his kids to grow up tough.
  7. Saturday was ok, wasn't it? Last night turned out decent for the last round of men's golf league.
  8. I have always thought that about my place too but seeing water come up through the floor drain in July made me pretty nervous.
  9. And then you see stories with talking about the low number of people with flood insurance. What's the point if it isn't going to help you?
  10. That's more what I meant. I like watching the power of storms too. I just can't believe the crap that people have to go through when they have claims. It's crazy.
  11. I know you aren't serious but my boss lives in Montpelier and had her house trashed in the flooding back in July. She has flood insurance but it has been a nightmare to deal with, they won't pay for anything above 30" off the floor and just the fact that she had insurance has made her ineligible for forms of assistance. It's been a nightmare.
  12. This and to not take a shower/bath during storms.
  13. Who else had a mom that would yell at them to stay away from the windows during thunder storms?
  14. Setting up for a meeting in Waitsfield, VT. This is looking towards Sugarbush Ski Area.
  15. Nice. This is how this orchard grafts. I didn’t realize it could be done on such a large limb.
  16. Heavy rain and a good amount of lightning around 5:30, right as I was getting out of my car at the golf course. Checked the radar and my old course in Northfield looked to be in the clear so I booked it over there and got 9 in. Took me an hour using a cart. The last couple of holes were sketchy and I saw some pretty good lightning as I was finishing up on 9. I gave myself my last 3 footer for bogie as I didn’t want to stand around too long on the green.
  17. @dendriteI’m watching a short doc about an apple orchard in Woodstock, VT. They are showing all the care they do with the trees throughout the year. They just showed the grafting process. Have you ever done any grafting with your trees?
  18. I’m sure your family would appreciate that.
  19. It was pretty overcast up here until 11:00-11:30 this morning. Walked 18 holes and the sun was out by the time we were done.
  20. Wasn’t such a nice day for these folks last week. https://www.newscentermaine.com/amp/article/sports/outdoors/katahdin-rescue-baxter-state-park-maine-north-search-and-rescue/97-d3b84063-7b59-47fd-8c35-340973758fe3
  21. 75 for the high and 43 for the low. That’s near perfect for all manner of outdoor activities. I even saw some guys paving!
