  1. At least he's finally right about the cold leaving Canada. Several months late but its finally gone.
  2. And on the way back too, just for good measure.
  3. I now have to make an emergency call to my therapist after this trigger picture
  4. The thing I love about having a membership is that I can go over anytime I want and hop on. I can ply 3 or 4 holes if that's all I have time for. Of course we aren't a big, busy course like the ones down near you guys but it's a nice perk. The downside is that I don't travel to play nearly as much as I used to and I miss that.
  5. Time to bust out the sled for the rare July tracks
  6. I think the key for me, as I get towards retirement age, will be leaving for mud season. March 15 - May 15 can be awful. The snow starts getting to the point it's useless, hiking trails are closed because of mud and golf courses aren't open yet. If you can avoid those 2 months, the rest of the year is great.
  7. I have a co-worker who lives on the hill above P&H Truckstop who just said she had a really close lightning strike that knocked out some stuff in her house.
  8. Don’t discount idiots who think they would make good pets either. People have let them go when they got too much to handle.
  9. My office mate used one of those on the large plant/small tree he has in our office. Seemed to work well for the month we though we would be out of the office. Not sure how it's going 4 months in.
  10. My priority list 1. Snowmobiling stuff 1. Golf stuff 2. everything else
  11. The first time I went to PGA event tempo was driven home to me. I went to the Greater Hartford Open and was standing behind the 13th tee, close enough to almost grab the club in their backswing. The hole is a par 5 and the steady tempo really stood out. None of the players looked like they were swinging hard and were putting the ball 300+ yards Smooth tempo is so important. Now if I could just follow that mantra consistently.
  12. I’ve got just under 1200 sf on one level and have a 6000 btu unit in our bedroom window. I shut all our windows and shades when the sun starts hitting the house. We can keep the house at 77-78 even on the hottest days. We have insulated blackout shades on most of the windows so that helps. Of course we look like a drug house with shades pulled all day but it keeps it comfortable.
  13. Nothing here except thunder. We are in on the severe storm warning but haven't seen anything yet. Today was cut day at the Am, projected at +8. I know quite few guys playing in it. Think they'll get back out?
  14. Me too. I haven't ridden once this year despite the fact that I was given a season cart pass. I don't scoff at riders but I generally prefer walking and there are exceptions. If I'm playing in a tournament and it's slow, I like having the cart. If I'm playing a course I'm unfamiliar with, I like having a cart so I can ride up and take a look at what I'm hitting towards if it's unclear.
  15. The old ways are comforting in these troubling times.
  16. The problem wasn't really with the amount of snow, it was with retention. That's my weather fetish. I'll take nickle and dime events all winter long, I just don't want to lose any of it along the way.
  17. Don't bring a SNE jinx up here! We had our own struggle this past winter.
  18. I leave my car unlocked and nothing of value in it. I’d rather have them be able to open it to rifle through instead of smashing a window.
  19. Wait till the kids are teenagers, the dogs will move up on the list. On a similar note, when we my brother and I would act up as teenagers, my mother would tell us she wished she had traded us for puppies when we were little. It took many years and having my own kid get to that age before I really understod her sentiment.
  20. I’ve noticed the corn has shot up considerably over the last week.
