@Cold Miser I feel like I took a tour of your musical world tonight. First I watched the Waken Festival documentary. I’ve seen stuff about it before but it looks totally crazy. I’m just a fringe metal guy anyway, more of a hard rock type. Looks fun though if I was 30 years younger. Next I watched Rammstein in Amerika. Not overly familiar with them but the doc was very good. Seeing them arrested in Worcester in 1999 for a performance the year before was something. Not sure I could be a fan but I like the art aspect of what they do and the fearlessness of it.

That would be my guess. I’m a few miles from there an about 150’ higher but there generally isn’t a big difference. It stood out yesterday for the first time I can really remember.

The KMPV reading of -13 sticks out like a sore thumb. I had -21 and I'm not that far away.

-21 for my low. KMPV only got down to -15. They’re ant usually that much of a difference between me and them. They seemed a few degrees warmer than any of the surrounding PWS sites all day yesterday. Not sure if it’s an issue or just the way it worked out with this air mass.

Maybe not, it ticked back down to -19.4

This is a snip of the Ambient PWS network around my area. In the middle you can see my -5°. KMPV stands out at 5° above as the only station above 0°. Not sure if that is an error or if it is from the siting of their equipment.

You only need one thing

I remember the -38. I was busted for driving with a suspended license (the result of a youthful indiscretion a couple of years earlier) and had to get a ride to work with my boss. Since he also gave his wife and one of her colleagues a ride to National Life, I was forced to ride in the back of his pickup. It had a cap and he opened the sliding windows between the cab and the cap and gave me a blanket but I’ll never forget hearing the radio reports of the temps that morning and the -38 particularly stuck in my mind.

I’ll be staying at the old Loring Air Base. It’s the winter meeting/ride of the northeast snowmobile associations. PA, NY, the New England states and the eastern Canadian provinces, except Quebec. Ride during the day and meetings at night starting Wednesday. I’m going up early to ride with a friend’s daughter and future son in law who bought a pre-cast concrete business in Presque Isle last year.
