  1. Vladdy Jr is something else. Home run #22 to tie it against the Sox in the bottom of the 9th. Barnes was cruising with two quick strikeouts. That's a sickening feeling... 451 feet to tie the game with 2 outs in the 9th.
  2. 120F in Palm Springs . Good golf destination if you play 18 before 7:30am.
  3. Sometimes making an appointment at a place like a DMV/RMV sounds like a better way than showing up and waiting two hours. Or is it like every Apple Store on the planet where they make you make an appointment and then you still wait for 1-2 hours. “Welcome to Apple, we see your appointment is for 2:45pm, but we are running a little behind. How does 3:45pm sound?”
  4. lol nice. That may be more than the past 30 days here.
  5. I saw Gonzales hit like 89.6mph on his fastball... lol. A utility infielder. Give him a role. I loved @Great Snow 1717's take yesterday... that Fenway Security needed to start removing women and children from the Monster Seats and Bleachers before someone got killed by the lasers being hit into those seats by the Blue Jays.
  6. Not much to complain or hype about right now. Always says he hates watering the lawn but he loved Stein like a father.
  7. My father said the lake/pond they are on in North Woodstock CT is the highest it’s been in a very long time. Almost up to the bottom of the docks. Kids can usually swim under the docks with 18” of clearance lol. No Stein there in NE CT.
  8. SNE stealing our rain again. Suns popping out instead of raining, ha.
  9. 0.27” this morning as it passed through.
  10. I can't imagine we are any better, it's been real dry. I know there are negatives for the ecosystem, but I've been enjoying it. Never have to alter plans due to rain. Shoulder season outdoor mountain operations just cruising compared to normal years. Hiking is amazing, trails have been mud-free for 6 weeks. Lots of traffic from outdoor enthusiasts too. I do have to water the garden daily though, not a big deal, ha. Wife planted it, I take care of it. Luckily a hose and outdoor spigot connected to municipal water supply in a town that's downstream of higher terrain fed by natural springs can keep it all growing. I feel for those on a well, farmers, etc. They are more important than my desire to go outside when I want to. But it's been enjoyable, so hard to ignore.
  11. We had some monster June's for water over the past 10-15 years. May too. Looking at the Mansfield Coop data when they recorded liquid and it was staffed by WCAX engineers on the summit to record it, there have been some big May/June couplets between 5 and 15 years ago. Like 2005-2015 had some very wet months. Like 15" in June one year where it averages a half inch of water per day all month.... that's hard to fathom right now, ha! I definitely think of our climate as being wet in May/June, drying out as the summer goes on, then an increase again in the late fall as synoptic storms start to ramp up again.
  12. Dog cooled off today in the snow. Last pile left out there. The real disturbing thing is that brown shit-stain is all the mud and dirt on her coat that she’s rubbed off into the snow. She gets into every mud pit on the way up and then on the way down I half stop here just to get her to clean herself off on the snow. She’ll roll for a good 10 minutes until clean.
  13. Love it. We’ve spent 6+ hours now bouncing around 80-81F with dews near 40F. Absolute perfection. Gets to 80F around noon and then just marinades there until 7pm. What a day to be alive.
  14. I think we are some of the driest since May 1st up this way. Like 2-4” total since 5/1. Tamarack may give us a run for our money though. 80/40… RH between 20-25% today. I think the dryness is giving some feedback. We seem to be higher than model temps but lower than model dews since the heater.
  15. 80/37 with 21% RH. 2.50 mile vis in haze at the ASOS, someone’s burn pile is drifting in, ha.
  16. Back into the 70s with dews in the 40s. Low was 44F earlier but shoots up fast in this sunshine.
  17. 55F and dropping. Guess we are shutting the sliders and windows tonight. Crisp hoodie weather taking the dog out. Love the warm days, cool nights pattern.
  18. Waiter approaches table... lean across table and quietly ask your date: “Is there a chance of getting laid tonight?” “Maybe if you play your cards right.” “I’ll have a chef salad with grilled chicken, please.” “Is there a chance of getting laid ton..” “Don’t even finish that sentence. Absolutely not.” “I’ll have the veal parm, linguini, side antipasto, and a loaf of garlic bread, please.”
  19. Photographing a bald eagle is on my bucket list. I’ve only seen one once flying by on Lake Champlain but Vermont has a lot of them. Sounds like a great scene.
  20. Congrats man. You can forgo an entire winter and just try to get to Mammoth or something once for a 8-foot Sierra storm.
  21. Perfect day. Bob Ross happy little clouds in the sky, good visibility over to MWN, Killington, Whiteface, and Quebec. 60F up at the picnic tables with a breeze keeping it bug free. Haven't golfed yet this season but this weather is making me want to put the clubs in the car.
  22. 75/43 off a low of 44F. The Chamber Approves.
  23. What’s summer without a drought to hype?
  24. They've led the MLB in come-from-behind wins for quite some time. They continue that practice. This team is never out of it. Verdugo is awesome. Has had more hits, runs, home runs, batting average, slugging percentage than Mookie so far. Betts is the better all-around player, but for the controlled low-cost price tag, Verdugo is a better "deal" for the money.
  25. It was painful to watch. I do think the crowd can affect players especially after last season. Even if they lose, that was so much fun to hear the crowd absolutely roaring. Can't take those things for granted, it's just good for the soul to hear Fenway rocking.
