  1. What a stretch of Top 10 days this week. One more tomorrow before the dews and heat creep in over the weekend. By early next week it's time to pull up a chair in the river and just sit there for a few days.
  2. Bermuda Blues behind it? He illustrated that well.
  3. 2m Euro products for daily maxes Mon/Tue/Wed:
  4. I dunno man, it looks pretty damn hot. Sure it gets hot in the summer but that’s a healthy stretch coming up.
  5. Bingo. No one was ever swayed politically on a message board in the history of the internet. One of the many reasons politics was a hard no on here for so long, it’s just pointless.
  6. Had to spin up to the Picnic Tables briefly. Another 10 out of 10 day. Nice to see normal summer activities again with families enjoying themselves. Almost a 40-degree diurnal swing in the valley so far. Going to be 80F even up top next week.
  7. Put some relish on the hot dog roasting on the sidewalk next week? Won’t even need a grill.
  8. Heavy stuff right there. Glad you enjoyed the shot.
  9. Ha thanks man. I do sell some but more word of mouth to second home owners around here. I’ve done many of the ski resort brochures, trail map covers, posters, etc over the years. But honestly shots like that one are just daily views from work with an iPhone11 after driving up a work road to check on something. Definitely feel lucky at times to just have that stuff in daily travels.
  10. Impressive. 6 days at or above 70F would be something.
  11. 41F after yesterday’s 42F. A couple crisp mornings in a row before the heater coming up.
  12. 48F here an hour after you, ha. What did your station get this morning? It’s crisp outside.
  13. Yeah fun evenings to be out and about I’m sure… eating and drinking on the patios until late in the evening. That’s what summer is all about. I’ve got friends in both Seattle and Portland (usual landing spots for former BTV dwellers) and the photos on social always look like it’s a great fun place. The geography is pretty wild nearby too.
  14. Sounded like a new crew and some confusion about rope lines. One system was used to raise tools and equipment and he might have been hooked into the wrong line? I don’t know what they were using but at the ski area we have a two-rope system at all times for tower climbs and zipline work/high-angle tech rescue (the zip gets to 200 feet above the forest). So if you are performing anything you are hooked into two ropes for backup. It’s cumbersome but reassuring having a second system to fall back on.
  15. Very very lucky. Any other angle besides feet first vertical and the fall is fatal. Landing pencil feet first allowed for enough absorption of energy (breaking a lot of bones in the lower body to rib cage in the process) to save the internal organs in the chest. It’s like the human body design executed a save… everything else breaks to save the organs.
  16. Heavy end of the day. 911 call came into Lamoille Dispatch about a person working on the WCAX towers, located on the Nose of Mt Mansfield (at 4,000ft). The individual fell over 40 feet off the antenna tower; landing feet first saved his life by letting the lower body absorb the impact. Mountain Operations EMTs were first on scene, followed by Stowe Mountain Rescue (municipal technical team) and Stowe Rescue paramedics. He was brought down the mountain and then airlifted out of the Mansfield parking lot by helo.
  17. That looks like some true Chamber weather right there. Deep blue except for a couple puffy Cu.
  18. How much rain have you had since like May 15? You got shrooms growing out back yet?
  19. 52F at 3pm at SLK… without rain, just straight CAA. That’s impressive. MVL is 31 degrees colder today at 3:30pm than yesterday at that time (90 to 59F). BTV is 30 degrees colder than yesterday afternoon too (91F to 61F). I guess I didn’t quite realize an autumn air mass was following that Caribbean air from yesterday.
  20. Yesterday’s 3:30pm reading was 90F at MVL. 24 hours later today’s 3:30pm reading is 59F. A 31F change in the last 24 hours is wild. The heat is going to want to kick on if you leave windows open after AC yesterday.
  21. Damn man. How long ago was that? 15-20 years? I have heard stories about when they used to do Mountain Biking off the Gondola here which is just hard to fathom given how steep it is. I know they stopped doing it before my time due to the risk and it was just way above most peoples skill level.
  22. It’s cold. I’ve been doing some stuff at the top of the Gondola here, it’s upper 40s and windy. Feels like an October day.
