  1. The US as a whole looks moist on this map.
  2. It all has a big impact. It would be hard to quantify subjectively one or the other. Even at the ski areas and NNE vacation towns wet weather sucks big time for times like the 4th, Labor Day, Columbus Day, etc. Places are sold out this weekend. Ski area ziptour sold out starting Friday… stuff like that. Not going to sell 2k Gondola tickets a day in the fog and mist. It all hurts from a business standpoint unless you own a cinema… but good for them, ha, been a rough year there too.
  3. A dew point of 57F right now feels like come crisp Canadian air mass in October after the past 4-5 days.
  4. ORH with 91, 93, 93 seems impressive. That's some high end heat for 1,000ft over multiple days.
  5. LA wasn't as bad as I expected during time of days that are said to be terrible. Only had a week out there on vacation so it didn't really matter, was heading to and from beaches, but they had enough lanes to handle the flow at some supposedly rush hour times. Even to and from the airport in LA. 8-12 lanes wide at times, it was crowded but flowed at a good speed. Its amazing what infrastructure can do... and space. They have the space without thick forests to go wide out west.
  6. 0.5"+ is a good drink. That'll soak. Can't imagine from a vegetation standpoint that another half inch in quick time really would matter. Just get those drinks in.
  7. Can't believe they are playing through this.
  8. What did that slug that just moved through give you?
  9. Did ok here with rain. 0.64" in the Stratus next to the Country Club. Looks like the surrounding PWS are similar, a little less in the Lower Village and east. We've done ok lately, 1"/week average seems to keep drought at bay. Like in winter when SNE cleans up, we can usually putz along with some consistency as a consolation prize .
  10. Good wind popping up in Woodstock area now. Intensifying it seems from further east, or the radar is hitting it lower.
  11. Looked like 30-40mph at 4,500ft where the 0.5 degree scan hits?
  12. A good drink and lightning. No wind. Torrential rain in these.
  13. Getting thunder now here at the mountain and a very humid -RN.
  14. Matt Barnes is a closer, strikes out the side in the 9th, in a one run game. Red Sox win 27th come from behind game. The Red Sox are good. 43-4 when scoring 4 or more runs.
  15. Oh yeah, it drives the dog nuts. There will be 3 of them out there swimming around and slapping their tails in a big splash before going underwater. The young ones love signaling the herd that some other creature is around. After a few days watching them, the kids swim in very distinct routes in the shade while the adults take charge in the open. Nature.
  16. Impressive lightning burst on all the progs! That must've been a fun one. Nothing like a hot and humid evening featuring a strong electrical storm. That's some summer vibes.
  17. Whole family of beavers have moved into the river out back. They've completely damned it up wall to wall in like 3 days, pretty impressive. At one point we counted 6 of them swimming around. Probably mom, dad, and four kids. They drop a couple mature trees a night and mow vegetation down like crazy. The work ethic is impressive though, they've got rocks and mud on top of their dam which is about 18" tall so far.
  18. Schwarber hit two last night and just hit another in the 1st inning tonight. Now 12 in last 10 games and 16 homers in past 18 games. Why pitch to him? Ha the pitchers reaction is great, like “you’ve got to be shitting me.”
  19. Ya’ll are fun to drive with. My couple trips down to BOS/Logan as soon as hitting like Methuen south on 93 was like wall to wall traffic moving at like 80-85 on the slow side and 85-95 in the fast lanes. I’ve gotten ticketed for 79mph on I-89 up here by a State Trooper. Down there 79mph would’ve needed your flashers on to alert drivers to how slow you were moving.
  20. 91F yesterday for a max and up to 90F so far today at MVL. Just missed a heatwave with 89F on Sunday.
  21. Good to know on FEW. I always try to look for clues or changes (sky, wind, dew) that might explain temp behavior between obs.
  22. Gotcha, yeah I see a minute prior it was 98F, but the sky cover changed from FEW to CLR so I thought maybe it bumped up.
