  1. Yeah that bolder doesn’t sound too fun . Those type of things though have been happening more often… for a while like a decade ago, 90F was like a big deal here. Now we string 6 of them together in a row like last year.
  2. 61/54 at MVL with windows closing and hoodies on…. Yesterday it was 88/70. What a change. From Caribbean air to Canadian air. Somewhere between the two would be nice.
  3. Yeah wow, can’t believe that radar resulted in zero measurable rain.
  4. Damn dude. Best of luck on the recovery.
  5. Yeah, it’s about the length of time it takes for an on-call electric company employee (probably two, a witness) to visit a power station and activate everything to normal levels. They live very locally. If you are on-call and know thunderstorms are coming in, you’re ready for some excitement.
  6. Power back. About an hour outage. Stowe Electric is pretty responsive. They get after problems. 0.56” water here and 0.88” at the base of the ski area. Good soak with the line.
  7. Just lost power and 4G service is out too, luckily there’s 3G to keep a weenie posting during weather. Very close lighting strike.
  8. Getting rolling thunder now, hopefully a good drink. Moving ENE.
  9. Yeah it was nice today as a novelty. Heat with a breeze always makes it better. Looking forward to tomorrow though, AC still cranking this evening despite the lower temps…it’s so muggy out. Thick air. && Cooler and drier air will help decrease the areal coverage of showers with a few lingering showers later on Tuesday over southern Vermont. Noticeable cooler temperatures will be on tap for Tuesday with highs in the 60s to around 70. Dry weather and no precipitation is expected Tuesday night with lows in the 40s, but some 30s in the mountains. &&
  10. Nice yeah that’s a good drink! Only 0.18” here but looks like the second round should add some. I was guessing we got like a third to half inch judging by the downpour but went out and Stratus was like oh hell no, only 0.18” . Looks like stations in Stowe range from 0.05” to 0.80”… the classic convection wide ranging rainfall.
  11. Fairly lackluster. Not a breath of wind, but guess I don’t have to water the garden this evening. Not even much rain, but enough to soak.
  12. There’s a core of like 70dbz at 4,000ft going right over Mad River Glen ski area. Would assume hail with that.
  13. Pretty good lightning show though as this crosses the Green Mountain Spine. Just started pouring.
  14. Yeah seems fairly run of the mill thunderstorms with very heavy rain. This air mass can make some water though in short duration. Though nothing jumping out as overly severe.
  15. I had no idea they were so obsessed with the color blue. Wonder if my dog would wear a blue bucket on her head?
  16. 88/70. About as unpleasant as it gets around here. BTV 90/70.
  17. BTV 88/69 and gusting almost 40mph out of the south. Feels like the Caribbean when it’s around 90F and the flags are straight out in a hairdryer wind.
  18. This air mass is legit. It was 81/69 and now is 87/69 at MVL. Upper 80s with near 70F dews. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that ASOS not mix out at least a little as the temp climbs. Temp keeps going up and dew point stays high.
  19. Very jealous. I love the hills but the water has an extremely strong pull too. The ocean is where summer lives. That wide open space.
  20. That's insane, two in one game. Textbook way to do it. Ball hit hard to third base, step on the bag and then start a more routine double play style finish. If the batter is just leaving the box while the third basement already has the ball next to the bag, he's in trouble. He hit it too hard .
  21. Chamber of Commerce day. What you see in the brochures for summer in the mountains. No haze, excellent visibility in clear air... a breeze... shallow Cu dotting the landscape casting shadows. Hot enough to swim, not hot enough to stifle active recreation. Mountain was bustling over on the Gondola side, a good energy of people enjoying themselves. Low 80s in town (max of 83F at MVL), upper 60s at the picnic tables.
  22. Yeah the adult black bears can be large creatures in person, ha. I probably feel overly comfortable with them though as they really cause me no concern… my dog does though. Every one we’ve seen, I’ve seen it first and can leash her before she notices it. A black bear will pay no attention to me, but a barking dog might just annoy it enough. They are extremely docile creatures though. A few years ago working on the mountain we watched a deer and bear graze only like 10 yards apart or less. They both were going for the same ground food source and the deer seemed to have an understanding that this large creature isn’t interested in the meat I could provide, ha.
  23. Dog and I ran into our first bear of the season today. Big fella. Had to wait about 10 minutes for him to meander away and out of our path. Of course the one time I decided not to carry the real camera with me on the mountain too. Amazing summer day though. Low-80s in the valley, dews in the 50s. Tons of sunshine. Plenty hot to go swimming (dipped in the river) and comfortable enough to be very active without sweating to dehydration. A perfect summer day.
