GFS thinks 14 of the next 17 days are below normal....quite the stretch of winter weather temp wise

Beautiful winter day along the snow streaked peaks of the Welsh Mountain anticline in NW Chester County

Of note today on average is the coldest day of the year here in Western Chester County....with that said today's average temperature of 16.7 is the 13th coldest January 21st with records back to 1894

Beautiful evening with clearing skies here in NW Chesco...while down the shore in Sea Isle - snow continues and temps now below freezing

We are now at 124% of normal January snowfall through today and 59% through season to date average snow to date

0.3" of snow so far from our 3rd winter "event" of the month here in East Nantmeal Twp

Roads starting to cave here in NW Chesco - temp down to 32.0

Snowing moderately now here across NW Chesco with some heavier returns on the radar

Down to 32.8 here in East Nantmeal with steady snow - I did notice when driving my son to school lots of puddles with patchy snow/ice piles still on the sides of the road....as temps drop later could be something to watch out for....

Changing to snow now here in East Nantmeal - temp at 33.7

Temp now falling again down 1 degree in last 15 minutes still some rain - and again as earlier a few sparse wet mangled flakes - temp 34.2

Temp also continues to now slowly rise here in NW Chesco temp up to 36.4 have not even seen a stray mangled flake in the last 20 minutes

I do see that Selinsgrove and Camp David are reporting snow as of 630am but that is as close as I have seen so far

Not seeing many reports at all of snow reaching the ground...I have seen a couple mangled flakes now and then......thinking this is pretty much a non-event.....but we watch

Certainly starting to look like a pretty brief period of snow if and when it changes over! Temp has actually increased from 34.6 to 35.2 over the past 5 min - just an occasional mangled flake mixed with the very light rain/drizzle...

Have had light rain most of the night here in East Nantmeal with 0.14" so far on the VP and 0.16" on the Tempest. The winds have turned from SSW to North over the past 30 minutes and I am just starting to see a few mangled flakes mixing in with the light rain. The temp has slowly started to fall and we are now down to 34.8

Of note today in Chester County history January 19, 1994 marks the only time in observation history back to 1894 that the temperature failed to rise above zero degrees. On this date in 1994 the low was 11 below and the high temperature only made it to 1 below zero.

Maybe he will get so mad he will actually spell correctly in his rant!!

Still above normal snowfall and below temps here in Chester County so far here in January....not too shabby if you like cold and snow!

Those of us with a little relative elevation N and W will no doubt accumulate better (if there is the qpf)....
