  1. Phin has nicely adapted to some of the ball busting and side humor of this forum. I feel like the people in the MA hated us for that reason....felt it was a "boys club." I'm sorry people felt that way, but a lot of us have gotten to know each other. Until recently, we met up at bars, had some drinks and laughs...and weenied out to the Kocin book. Maybe it was the angst from all those years of New England getting snow, but it's a good forum with good people here.
  2. Weenies gone wild this winter. But honestly, 35 days out? Tracking the effects of Ray's fart permutations in the atmosphere has as much skill.
  3. Partial uninstallation of the downstairs A/C done yesterday. Will hold the ones upstairs in for dews next week.
  4. Yeah think we had problems at first in house.
  5. That's what I understood. If the euro guidance keeps coming in earlier and earlier with the upgrades they do...it's going to make the GEFS irrelevant.
  6. I still say we have some periods of rain for the next couple of weeks. Some are really having a tough time. If I am wrong, feel free to make fun of me, bump posts, tell me I suck...fine.
  7. GEFS will run to 35 days out at 00z. That will take forever though. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I do think this new GEFS won't finish as early as it used to despite starting earlier. The stats do show an improvement and it would be nice for the GEFS to be more competitive with the EPS. I have not been impressed at all with both the euro op and ensemble this summer.
  8. Big GEFS upgrade today. Crazy to see the ensemble running just behind the GFS op.
  9. Yeah that is the other end of the spectrum. You actually cause way more harm.
  10. I wouldn't shame people into having a nice yard either. I know some can go way wild, but nothing wrong with having some pride in your yard. When I lived in Dorchester, a lot of the old timers used to always be out and about weeding...hell even pulling stuff out of the cracks of sidewalks and sweeping them. I think it does speak a bit to your work ethic as well.
  11. When it is really dry, I cut back and just water the shrubs and some potted stuff my wife has. Lawn will take a back seat. Usually that may last 4-6 weeks...but this year September has been really dry so far.
  12. Yeah I don't need HA events and massive fluctuations, just negative in the means like Will said.
  13. Sandy was in that spot too. That's where the homebrew stuff can originate.
  14. Oh for sure lol. Although move that north a couple of hundred miles and it would have been like DC.
  15. That is an awful map. I understand it is difficult to capture all the variations, but a little detail would help instead of just blanketing the whole area in one color. Look at the ranges within the shade of blue/grey. You could try to add some detail in there IMO in the higher spots.
  16. That still blows my mind a place like Tolland uses SP.
  17. No water and no police dept in Tolland. May as well be Appalachia.
  18. And hey, Siberia snow looks to get off to a good start!!!!! Judah!!!!!
  19. I would just like to see less of a black hole across Greenland as that has been killing the east over the last two seasons. If we get North Pac ridging (west of the PNA domain) that's usually when the cold charges into the Plains and the response more often than not, are for lows to move into NY state. Not always the case, but a little confluence to the north would really help. Pacific is always King, but a little help from the Atlantic Queen of Greenland would be nice.
  20. Wait until Ineedsnow sees the 00z GFS.
  21. Pretty mild to warm from now through Sunday. Probably some near to low 80s in spots. Especially Sunday.
