Were you living in the same spot then? I remember an electrical fire on the power lines/transformer down the hill on Croton Falls Rd. made the entire sky turn red at my parents house. It was crazy to look at...it was night and supposed to be entirely dark and you could see almost like it was day from the sky being lit up from the fire.

I know some places saw some wind, but IMBY this may have been one of the worst wind forecast busts we've ever had. For most of the storm, it was relatively calm, and I'm not sure we even saw a gust to 20 at the worst. Forecast the day prior was for gusts into the 40s.

How much did you guys end up actually otg by the time all was said and done? I'd say down the hill we had maybe 4 or 5 inches when it finally shut off last night. My parents who are between me and Kings Ridge at 650-700' or so had probably 7 inches on the ground when I dropped the kids off there this morning. I had taken a second drive up to Kings Ridge around 5 PM yesterday and the car tops looked like they had maybe 8-10 inches on them.

I just drove the 3 miles from my house at 450 feet up to King's Ridge Road which is at about 950 feet. Crazy how different of a world it is up there than here. Here the roads are wet, maybe 3 inches in the grass because of the melting as it snows today. Up there they probably have 8 inches otg and roads are completely snowcovered.

Power is out? Are you getting the winds already? Almost dead calm here...

Something i overlooked when i bought btw... although pretty sure after 6 months of looking and finding a house we liked my wife wouldn't have been ok with me saying no because i wanted at least 300 feet more elevation

You're gonna much better than me I think...im also in carmel but my new house is at 450 feet.

The winter storm warning for western passaic, orange, and putnam was just updated 10 minutes ago. They actually upped the min totals...calling for 6-12 where the original was 4-12.

@snywx are you flipped over to snow yet?

So what are we thinking tonight? Inch or so of slop that gets washed away by morning?
-
LMFAO I had to go to weather.com myself to see this...they must just create a text output of the GFS verbatim or something. And you know plenty of people use solely use weather.com and are thinking they are getting a foot of snow tomorrow night

Cigar is winding down and i may go reload... Cant beat the peace of falling snow at night

Cigar with some whiskey on the front porch right around 9 or 10 tonight sounds just about right. Gotta enjoy potentially the only "real" snowfall of the season to its fullest.
