  1. With the arctic cold lifting out so quickly how does that affect the snow/precipitation possibilities on mon-ties following. Are we going straight to warm for the foreseeable or do we still have the cold in Canada to tap?
  2. Now you’ve gone and done it. You’ve made Anthony happy. Just setting him up…and costing him another month of stormvista
  3. That is my hope and then I’m on board for an early warm-up. But you know the cold April is in evitable this year.
  4. Too early for that. Not sure I buy that will happen that soon.
  5. Is there room for anything to amplify in this set up though?
  6. I was never into -20 and suppression. A few more snowstorms would be nice though.
  7. This is the kind of set up where the GFS could be really wrong. I'm interested in what the Euro has to say in a half hour.
  8. The I-Cahn storm with a New England accent?
  9. Though not a meteorologist, I have stayed in many hotels including Holiday Inn Express. And I read the board. And my brain isn't ruined by edibles. I have a couple of worthless thoughts, which I express because I'm an extravert. 1. All season cold snaps have been overplayed. I don't believe it is likely that the GFS (Tip's elephant trampoline) is going to happen, so I am leery of suppression at least for very long. It would be nice to feed the weenies with a MA SNE snow storm, although of course I would miss out. 2. We have had multiple indications of a gradient pattern, and have experienced it. Because Canada is getting real cold we will likely have opportunities for storms travelling the boundary with cold available to tap. With a western trough still spitting out energy, and with a SE Ridge, I think we wont' have long last suppression, and I think we will have light to moderate storms for the next couple of weeks, some of which will surprise us. My pack will probably be bigger on Feb 10 than the 14-18 or so thick inches we have now. 3. Probably a big storm between about Feb 7-10, before a warmer stretch? We have a pack that is meaty and thick. Would take some nights above freeezing and a lot of rain to get rid of that. Maybe we can give the gradient a little nudge south and supply ya'll with some cold air.
  10. No, when you guys do it you make it 100” in 3 weeks.
  11. I was a little patient and I got 25” in 6 days. So there.
  12. When I lived in Philly, I totally got absorbed in the storms that we got...and there were some good winters! But to scratch the itch, I would frequently go to Quebec City in early February, some I recommend to any snow weenie. You can fly or drive, it is like being in an old European city. The food is great, it is all walkable and charming, the have a fantastic winter carnival, and the US dollar does pretty well up there. And the snow...wow!
  13. Yeah the snowblower last night didn't touch the 3 inches of compact snow at the bottom which is now all slushy. What a fookin mess. We have 1500' to manage and we use a tractor blower not a blade. We might be calling in the town plow guy to throw a lot of sand tomorrow. Also the snowpack hasn't really decreased. The walk across the field in 20 heavy inches was one helluva glute workout. These are the days I start to hope the winter ends fast. Though I'm rooting for the next big storm. It's sick.
  14. Hang on! I'm satisfied with my 25-26" in 6 days time. I hope you get to 30!
  15. The CAD from Gene to Jeff, and to some extent to Brian is remarkable. We are 30/28 here. I CAD pretty well, as this whole area does, but Brian and Gene are at another level.
  16. We are mostly sleet now. Maybe 3.5"snow? Very glad we ran the snowblower down and up the driveway when we did. Looks like it will stay pretty cold, so just sleet and freezing rain and maybe some plain rain before it cuts off...and a smooth driveway I think.
  17. We are almost to 3 inches so decided to run the tractor snowblower down the driveway. We have a long driveway on an incline. And we don’t want big chunks of slush tomorrow. The snow is heavy and clumpy so I think the changeover is near so we’re trying to get the 3 inches off the driveway and see what happens next.
  18. We've just had a heavy burst here, but it seems a break is imminent, but then there is another large area of precip just in ENY and Western Mass just about to break over the VT and NH borders. If that is snow it will get heavy again, but I'm thinking this batch might be the changeover. I think your low temp means potentially a good bit of freezing rain. We are considering snowblowing the driveway at about 10 just before bed because we don't want a ton of frozen slush which can't be snowblown..
  19. Snowing pretty hard but temporary back edge is near. Temp dropped to 27
  20. An eager and loving soul, who has a positive outlook, and everyday begins again.
  21. And already backfilling west mass and ct and nepa
