A little burst of great snow growth here that will probably get us to 2 inches before it tapers off. I wonder how much it’s going to be able to warm today and tonight given that temperature ranges in the area are 26-27.
It the sadness for coastal sne or all of ne? Primary to Cleveland isn’t a bad thing up here if it brings the precipitation shield further north before a transfer. Sounds like this one won’t miss to the south. Also could trend better from here(or worse) but with cold air coming in it probably trends better.
that is a lot of sub 1000 lows inside the BM for a week out. Why isn't there more enthusiasm? I guess if it goes out south and there is not cold air then SNE gets nothing and it is too far south for us up here where there is enough cold...
I love that picture. That looks very much like my backwoods, and I just took a long wander. So awesome to have at least just a few inches of snow on the ground for those kinds of walks, and that kind of light.
Some come back as soon as there’s some signs of warmth. I’m not sure I buy that. I’m thinking we got a couple of inches of snow Tuesday night and then a couple of more inches of snow, followed by some mix and rain which solidifies the pack and then I think we get a significant storm Early next week and then we’ll see where we stand in terms of temperatures and snowpack and the pattern.
but I’m not a met so what do I know
In a bad winter for much of central and southern New England last year, we had a great pack in excess of 20 inches and at one point over 30 inches. I like pack, but prefer 6 to 10 inches which is easier to walk in.
And miss all that snow? The walks these days are perfect in the woods. Snow not too deep so I can go everywhere with the dog into the parts of the woods that are not great in the summer and fall. This is pretty freaking awesome weather right now with a moderate snow cover.
I know you are tongue in cheek
I wanna make sure I’m getting the potential progression right. So we have some sort of event Tuesday night and Wednesday that might be a mix with more snow further north, but probably not a heavy event. Then around Friday we have another event. This event might be a little bit warmer with mixing getting quite far north? Then early next week there’s a chance for a significant storm while we temporarily have a good set up?
