  1. Nooooooo. Hold onnnnnnnnn. Darker greens cover all of Adams and Franklin and are moving up this way. Anticipating the heaviest rates (so far) to hit in the next 10-20 minutes.
  2. Welcome, neighbor, to the forum. Just went out and measured 1.6". Temp down to and holding now at 30.4 degrees. Moderate to almost heavy snow falling. Hoping to "Cash" in like my friend to the south.
  3. I do expect to hold on longer, but with changeovers to sleet they usually come up from the south fairly quickly. I hold on to the cold really long in CAD setups which is great if you want ZR. I don't mind a little bit of that but would prefer not a lot. BTW earlier you asked how close I was to the mountain. I'm about 5 miles south of the base in north middleton twp, and also less than 750 feet from the Conodoguinet. That positions me in the lowest part of the immediate valley of the creek.
  4. Meanwhile, here the temp continues to slowly fall, as does the snow, and is down to 30.9 degrees. Just measured 0.5" on the board. Good flake size. Waiting for the heavy stuff to arrive shortly based on radar. Greens just to my southwest.
  5. I see. Cash just showed the radar. It just sucks that any mix is already this close less than 2 hours after the storm really got underway.
  6. Didn't MAG just say it looked like the change line was down in MD along I-70? I'd think it would be too soon for you to see any mix yet. (Glad you've reach 2", though).
  7. Finally have good flakes to call it moderate snow. Temp down to 31.5. Just measured 0.2" on the board. Like what I see coming up from my southwest for now.
  8. Down to 32.5 finally with steady light snow. The board is white. Baby steps...
  9. Making tiny progress with temp, now down to 33.4. Signs of snow beginning to stick showing up.
  10. CTP.....OUCH! I still hope Eric's amounts pan out for my area which was still in 3-6".
  11. Steady snow falling now. Finer flakes though. Having a really tough time accumulating, though. Temp 34.0. Need bigger flakes...haha.
  12. Wow...while not totally shocking, it is pretty surprising to see the pendulum swing back so quickly. For my point and click they have me as 1-3" this afternoon and 1-2" this evening before a mix later this evening, and then a change to plain rain overnight. First time for plain rain alone with no other ptypes. BTW, the radar shows the darker greens over me right now and I have literally nothing falling from the sky! I thought for sure that would be heavy snow and it would start instantly since I had the snow falling earlier with light blue over me. Go figure. Temp back up to 34.5.
  13. looks like the first of the heavy snow about to hit Chambersburg and then head up I-81 way. Does look like it will turn into a rapid "thump" when it arrives.
  14. Down to 33.8 with very light snow flakes now. Grains are gone.
  15. Well they were whitening the board because they weren't melting on contact, so they were kind of doing both.
  16. Woo hoo….snow grains have commenced here with a tiny accumulation on the board...but it's also melting with the temp only down to 34.7 so far.
  17. Have been sitting at 35.2 degrees for the past 2 hours and haven't budged. I want to stay optimistic, but it's pretty tough given all the "warm" data out there. Honestly, even if I just hit 3" I'll be happy. Just hope it doesn't get washed away before the plunge arrives. Edit: Just took note that I've had consistent south-easterly winds all morning which have been slowly creeping up in speed. Not a good direction for CAD. On the other hand my dew point has slowly been falling as well here, down to 27 at the moment.
  18. To your point here is the Pivotal map which seems to scream this is a non event for entire LSV. Kuchera and straight 10:1 amounts at MDT are nearly the same.
  19. Well...I very unexpectedly hit my high of the day at 7:00pm with a reading of 38.1. My afternoon high had been 36.0 and began to fall a bit around sunset. Then it mysteriously began to rise again up to the new high. The temp has only dropped back to 36.5 as of this writing. Not only that but when I went to the grocery store a short time ago there were raindrops on my front and rear windshields. Uh-oh?
  20. I’ve been on the January 1994 analog all week. Today is the first of the 4 consecutive record lows at mdt that culminates with -22F on the 21st.
  21. I can report BINOVC here just developing. High temp has hit 35.1. Should have stuck with my 36...lol. I would also say that radiative effects have now taken out 60-70% of last night's snow.
  22. I think they are really expecting the "big thump" that we've talked about all week. Look at them referring to snowfall rates of 1-2"/hr and locally higher Saturday evening. With those rates it's easy to see how quickly you could reach those accumulation totals even with the change thrown in afterwards.
  23. Looks like we're in a CAD at the moment...lol. Cold stuff still trapped at the surface. I think CAD will absolutely be in play tomorrow night regardless of what the maps show or don't show right now. BTW, I'm thinking of lowering my predicted high temp to 35. Still thick overcast and temp only up to 32.9.
