  1. What a surprise with the sudden WWA for our area that just came out. Only goes until midnight...less than 7 hours long.
  2. I will hold out hope...lol. Actually it's not doing anything here as of this very moment.
  3. Now it just needs to keep sliding along Blue Mountain and I'm set. At 40 mph it should be here in about 20 -30 minutes.
  4. Great arrival time for this event. Always love it when they start close to sunset and radiative effects are eliminated.
  5. Yeah...I'm rooting for that band to not fall apart by the time it reaches here. It looks like it just might make it. This statement only covers it as far north as Shippensburg at the moment.
  6. HAHA! No thanks. I can live with the freebies. The stormvista subscription is tempting to have for the winter months. I'm assuming you can just subscribe on a month to month basis.
  7. That's all they give me. I'm not worthy of hourly panels.
  8. I just looked and actually that panel at 09Z is the coldest it gets (at least looking at lsv area). 12Z comes back up a few degrees.
  9. cashtown and bubbler should be seeing some flakes fly pretty soon by looks of radar. I'm hoping by 5:00 for me.
  10. Nice map. Hi res. Easy to zoom WAY in. I don't know how much to subtract from tonight's event, but it definitely seems to have my county around 6". Where's this map from?
  11. Haha. If his depiction played out precisely then it looks like my backyard would be between 3.3 to 3.5. We. Will. See. I liked the fact that he was acknowledging that <100 miles was the difference between 1" and 12". Now where have we seen that possibility before? Seems like this state falls in the battleground many, many times.
  12. Meanwhile, snow echoes aloft noted on radar entering our area.
  13. Lol. The verbiage of the watch is fairly dramatic especially when it limits the mention of plain rain at least so far. PAZ036-056>059-063>066-180345- /O.EXA.KCTP.WS.A.0001.190119T1800Z-190120T2100Z/ Franklin-Perry-Dauphin-Schuylkill-Lebanon-Cumberland-Adams-York- Lancaster- Including the cities of Chambersburg, Newport, Harrisburg, Hershey, Pottsville, Lebanon, Carlisle, Gettysburg, York, and Lancaster 240 PM EST Thu Jan 17 2019 ...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Snow followed by heavy mixed precipitation possible. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches, with localized amounts up to 10 inches in higher elevations possible. Ice accumulations of one tenth to one quarter of an inch are possible. * WHERE...Lower Susquehanna Valley. * WHEN...From Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on difficult travel conditions. Significant reductions in visibility are possible.
  14. His cold disdain also spilled over to snow as well, which as a wx weenie always was a big disappointment.
  15. Okay...you're on. I'll say I'm going to exceed that amount. By how much...who knows? BTW, you'll never see me report 3.25" because you only officially record snowfall to the nearest tenth of an inch! So you need to decide if it's 3.2" or 3.3"...haha.
  16. Thanks, bubbler! Even that still doesn't look totally horrible. But yes, certainly a pretty good shift north.
  17. Can anyone with access post a Euro snow map? Just curious to see the changes.
  18. Can't believe the UK snowfall map doesn't look dramatically worse given the NW low placement compared to last night. Will be interesting to see the upcoming Euro snowfall map and how it compares to last night's.
  19. Question is how much ZR vs plain rain? My grid forecast does not include any plain rain for the storm at the moment. Just ZR and sleet Saturday night with a low of 31.
  20. Regardless of snowfall it would seem like I'm in one of the prime freezing rain accumulation areas. But all the maps seem to show way too much. NWS forecast for 0.10" while others upwards of over 0.5". Big difference there.
  21. So...now the Canadian starts to reverse itself and go more frozen? Sheesh.
  22. One thing I can say...of all the model snow maps this is the weirdest looking distribution of any so far...
