    I'll take my southeastern location and run with it today It's snowing hard with 2" down already and the temp is staying cold enough that it's a fluffy wet snow. Gonna go push it out of the driveway into the street for the plow to take away. The downstream neighbors love it heheh

    Go away. Nearly 25 years of providing obs on weather forums and you're the first with a problem with it. 2" now and piling up pretty quickly. 28/26/E6/SN+

    IMO it's sort of important for someone to have an idea of where an event is occurring which is pretty much the point of an observation in an obs thread. No? Total snowglobe out there now. Wham bam, once the column saturated it went to accumulating snow in no time. The dp only came up a degree and a half though- 30/14.4/NE4/SN

    Well that was quick. First flakes happening now. 1,600 feet north of the Westchester/Putnam border.

    Still 30/13 but the wind is mostly out of the NNE now, still light @ 3 with a lowering cloud deck. The southern horizon is getting "hazy" which is usually precip trying to get to the ground so it's close. Next post will be because it's snowing.

    ^^ Ya know what really stands out for me on that list? The temps are more above freezing than below with (to me) surprisingly high avg temps.

    ^^ For a very short term event I had a max on the ground of .75" but due to warming temps throughout and a 15 minute lull that allowed the melting to start by the time it ended there was .25" or less.

    Last round of snow is moving through now but the temp went up to 34 and it's melting faster than it's falling. At one point there was near 3/4" and now it's down to a half or so and only on things like bushes and leaves or existing snow, hard surfaces are not much more than a thick coating.

    That hole on the radar is real. It stopped snowing right on cue, the ceiling stayed low and the light stayed flat, and now as it show it passing the snow is picking right back up. If you weren't watching it intently you'd miss it, pretty cool.

    ^^That sux I do remember him, was wondering what happened that he just stopped posting. I figured I'd get some flurries this morning not a full on round of snow. It's snowing pretty hard and accumulating nicely. I like when winter weather exceeds my expectations

    32/30/SSE1/SN It was legitimately heavy for a little while there but it's down to moderate now, flake size went from huge to small/med and the wind is gone. There's a fresh, clean .5" covering (so far) on everything, we'll see if the lighter rates don't allow for some melting on the paved surfaces. edit: 5 minutes later and it's back to heavy snow with large flakes. Expectations exceeded

    Nothing in the first round so I pretty much expected 7 flakes and then rain. That's not what happened. It's snowing hard and sticking to everything including the street. It looks to be moving pretty fast though...

    Temps are poppin', it's 34-36 around the area now. Still under a complete overcast with flurries, roads are wet.

    It's still flurrying but it's really drying up now and the cloud deck has thinned significantly. Final additional tally from 3pm>now is a hair over 3" not the 5 I thought early this morning.

    Still light snow/flurries, but it's really drying out now, with what looks to be a pretty thin cloud deck. The light is good and there are occasional flashes of brightness the temp had stayed down until now so this mornings 3" of fluff was easy to move out of the way. 31/25/NNW5/FL

    It's still snowing. The snow started around 3 in the afternoon, stopped for a few hours then picked up again early this morning. I've gotten 3" additional since the main show ended yesterday morning.

    It started snowing again around 3:30, got serious at 5 and now there's just under 2" new. The town plow even came and made another pass.

    Light snow picking up again, wind still out of the north and the temp is down 2 or 3° from the peak about 2 hours ago and things are freezing up again.

    I don't know what to do with the measurement for this one. If I had a decent place to measure every 6 hours, the wind was insane, I probably would have had near 30" total. As it is my property goes from 2" > 40" with the median at 23" (at 7am). Since about 7pm it has been a mix of heavy wet snow, crystals, grains, freezing mist and nearly sunny so the compaction is impressive and its down to about 15" now. Total shoveling time (so far) is just under 10 hours, driveway banks are well over my head which is always cool, just waiting for the town plow to fill in the end of the driveway again when they come to move the banks back

    The wind was howling here for 8 hours straight. It's really light now so what's falling is just accumulating gently.
