  1. It was about 2" then compacted a bit but I got some more after that and the temp went down. I'll measure again in a while but it looks to be a solid 2". I figured 2-3 so pretty much right on, that'll do. I think my neighbors down the street must read here because they moved the thermo for their station and it's right in line with the others in the area now and what I've always expected from this hill.
  2. It has been snowing lightly for a while, radar looks like there may be one more burst here before it moves out. Nickel and dime... I'll take it. So since it hasn't stopped snowing yet but it's compacted down to 1.5" already I can't claim 2" even though it was that much a little while ago? Sorry I'm going for max numbers I hate warm snow storms but it's better than cold rain.
  3. Yeah I expected 2-3" here and that's what I'll end up with so not bad, just disappointing because it's so warm.
  4. 2" of wet snow. It should be more but it's warm and wet so not really accumulating even though it's been snowing hard enough for enough hours that it should be more like 4".
  5. Large flakes now, visibility dropping and down to about 1/4 mile.
  6. 31/31/ENE4G12/ with a snow/sleet/graupel mix
  7. Well that was fun I barely got a dusting but at least it looks (almost) like winter. No sleet just flakes. Maybe I'll get enough later to call it a coating... I think I may be too far east for this one.
  8. The first few random flakes are falling now.
  9. Tivoli is on the river, Millerton is on the eastern border so about 25-30 miles E.
  10. Wet wet wet. I had some sleet but it barely accumulated other than on the remnant crusty piles leftover from the storm a few weeks ago before changing to rain. Now it's just dense fog. Next...
  11. That's been my thing too, nothing is frozen. Some days there's a thin coat of ice on the ponds but nothing that matters. The ground started to freeze, enough that the windstorm last week was a non issue but it's thawed now. It isn't really winter yet (again?).
  12. I think I'm around 15", sure it's more than down there but that's to be expected. I get about 50"/yr so I guess we're running about normal but it has been fairly warm and more wet than white.
  13. 29/23 thin high clouds with muted sunlight. Considering the clouds the radiational cooling from overnight is surprisingly evident this morning. As it warms I expect the RH will jump quickly as the thick frost evaporates.
  14. Similar here in Mahopac, down in town it's 23/21 but up on my hill it's more like 29/23.
  15. Yes. There are occasional references to the potential further east. Hartford and Worcester do enter the conversation but not often. I dont know if more than a few here understand the Tolland zone.
  16. The highest elevations reached on 84 are in Putnam County between the Taconic Pkwy and Carmel where it reaches 1k feet. There are actually gates they use to close the road in snow or icy weather like the big mtn passes out west. When the weather gets bad in that stretch it's "inspiring" to watch.
  17. Yeah it's a weird scene there but it's a nice enough little town. There isn't much to it though. There's 4 or 5 small businesses and a town park and that's really about it.
  18. Haha. I was up in your 'hood today, stopped in the bike shop in downtown Rhinebeck and Pleasant Valley. My wife goes to the wacky little yarn store in Tivoli a few times a year so I get some work done while we're there.
  19. I think I saw 7 flakes. It might have been dust.
