I'm thinking some broccoli and cauliflower might have a chance if it goes in now. If it does sprout you can cover it with a deep pile of leaves and maybe a solid cover if it snows and it might just work out.

I was just out cleaning up some of the garden and quite a few things are greening up.

There we go, this is better. Finally, a proper early spring day

I'm 14 miles SW of KDXR and other than a handful of times my totals are better (by a fair bit) than over there. The station site is slightly sheltered from anything southerly oriented so the snow blows "over" it, there are stations a mile away on the other side of the valley that show 20-30% higher precip numbers. It does show slightly lower temps too because of its location on the north side of the hills. All that said yes, we need more continental systems as opposed to coastal to have great winters here.

I'm not usually one to complain but this has been a pretty boring stretch of weather the last few months. I mean, there have been a few bright spots and some learning opportunities but as a whole it's been just ho hum.

Did you know that that fake snow was invented in CT? Walt Schoenknecht came up with a way to save the season at Mohawk in 1948. It turned into quite a thing

It's kinda nice out @ 45/44 How is it that it can be both comfortable and uncomfortable at the same temperature at different points in time? Perspective is a weird thing sometimes.
-
Yep, it's all sparkly here too.

Ya know, it's we're gonna be warm it should be warm. This cool, grey, cloudy stuff just ain't cutting it.

-10 is as cold as it's been here in a long time.

-5/-13/NNW5 G13 Got a snow shower that put down a solid dusting that's glowing in the moonlight. Finally it looks and feels wintry.
-
I'd be ok with it if the wind shut off now.

That groundhog didn't see it's shadow (duh) so their winter is over.

Well, maybe not quite VT but it's definitely very continental feeling as you come up the hill northbound on 22 and pass the Watchtower. I'm almost mobile again, getting a motor in my van this week, so I'll give you a tour of the local woods soon and show you what's what. Unless the Hutch totally shuts down I usually make it from my dads place in Oceanside to where Justin is in 90-120 minutes without driving like a moron. Like he said, access to more hill country areas is really easy from there and it just keeps getting prettier and easier traveling as you go north and northeast.

28/28/Flurries winding down with brightening sky to the NW and about .5" down. Nice way to end the month.

Nice morning with about a half inch on the ground 27/26/NNE4 SN

28/28/WNW4 SN- It's accumulating on all but the street

Titus is in great shape and wide open. I don't think anyone else is though. https://nyskiblog.com/forum/threads/titus-ny-1-29-23-harveys-road.1512/#post-51803

That whale sure wasn't. @LibertyBell yeah I think it's #8 since December between NJ and ME but I may have missed some.
-
What kind of whale is it that washed up on Lido Beach this morning? It looks pretty big.

Looks likely that the city will get skunked on the Wednesday am snow. My forecast is for an intense weenie meltdown as the temps drop on Friday and there still hasn't been any snow.

I'm kinda to the point where if it's not a blockbuster so I can build some nice driveway banks I'd rather get nothing. I don't need the hassle the small storms create, especially considering how many vehicles I see with bald or useless summer tires.

You're like 5" ahead of me. I've pretty much stopped caring too. I do kinda want one good rager though.
