Yeah I have a miles long view down the hill to my east. Looking out at the backside of storms as they pass me can be pretty awesome and looking at clear skies as a storm/front move over is kickass.

Some of the heaviest rain I've had in quite a while, .45 so far today and it's only 1am.
-
.2 today (so far) from 2 rounds of showers early this morning.
-
This smoke stuff is getting old. I hope our new normal isn't expecting 20-30% of our days to be of marginal (or worse) air quality.
-
I dunno, I think I like it more than 92 and humid with the AC running constantly. NYSEG certainly doesn't need the money.
-
I went back and added it up, 2" (give or take a tenth) for the week. Not quite as low as I thought but nowhere near what I was hoping for.

Re: Watertown area - I guess nothing to do depends on your perspective. There is everything outdoors, hiking, riding, skiing and it's not hard to get to some of the other cities for cultural things, shows, museums, etc. I'm looking forward to getting out of the Metro Area and having less to do, I'm even thinking it wouldn't be so bad to have to get a bigass snowblower so my aging self doesn't have to deal with the shitty side of snow removal. My wife doesn't necessarily agree

Wow what a difference, I only got .4 yesterday bringing my week total to 1.4.
-
I ended up with 1.01 between yesterday and overnight. Finally, a good solid soaking.
-
Meh, .29 for the day (so far).
-
Oh heck yeah, I got another .07! The street is already drying up.
-
Rumble, rumble, crack as it gets dark. Waiting on the rain.
-
I guess it's a good thing I didn't get my hopes up for rain today.
-
I was wondering what's going on. I drive through at least once a week and the forest looks more haggard in sections of Dutchess and Columbia than anywhere else in the entire region. There are places where it looks like March not June.
-
I finally got an actual wet day - .62! After a ground softening .17 yesterday and the overnight fog this actually did some good. It's wet a few inches down now and I'm seeing explosive growth in the yard. The pokeweed has grown 2-3 feet in the past couple of days. Are we really gonna be grey and wet most of the next 5 days?

Nice, steady rain falling. I had to just stand outside and listen for a while. It's been too long...
-
Steady light rain (.04 so far) combined with the dense fog and .17 yesterday has it feeling very, very wet out there. I didn't miss this muggy stuff at all.
-
So is it actually going to rain this time or is it gonna be another .02 kinda thing?
-
Well, below 80 anyway. This kinda takes the beach out of the picture, 80 at least opens that up.
-
Just hold that rain off until 11pm or so.
-
Yes we do. No it isn't. Have you seen some of the reservoirs? Did you know that NY State is about to see it's worst strawberry harvest in decades? It's really dry... I'd rather not have a wet week but sometimes it's necessary.
-
Make it hold off until at least 11pm Wednesday. Thanx.

Yeah but the end result was a period of non winters other than the cold, which was ultimately just annoying, but did allow ski areas and snowmakers to learn how to make snow for us to play in/on. The one or maybe two storms a year were usually a letdown. The last 30 years have been spectacular so your perspective is kinda skewed. Maybe you should hook yourself up with a nice home snowmaking setup.
