  1. So what time should I go out to soap the cars up before they get a nice freshwater rinse?
  2. Yep 72/70 here too but with very dense fog. Yuck.
  3. What a wonderful lead into the weekend. Thanks man
  4. Yep looks like a good one to my NW headed this way.
  5. Yeah that downpour yesterday brought me to ~5.5 so far. We're gettin' there.
  6. You could call it over the last year or so but 2 winters of less than half of average snowfall and even with the rains they were both way short in overall precip. Then last year's drought and extended dryness through the fall and the recent dryness all adds up to a significant deficit. I notice it in the hard to maintain well pressure if I need to run the water for any great length of time and the regular soil moisture checks that I do. This current t-storm is the real deal. I'm at just under 2" in 20 minutes and it's absolutely pouring.
  7. The abnormally wet thing isn't true everywhere. I'm only at about 2.5" since the wet period started. That's not going to make much of a dent in a 12+" deficit.
  8. Yeah I have a miles long view down the hill to my east. Looking out at the backside of storms as they pass me can be pretty awesome and looking at clear skies as a storm/front move over is kickass.
  9. Some of the heaviest rain I've had in quite a while, .45 so far today and it's only 1am.
  10. .2 today (so far) from 2 rounds of showers early this morning.
  11. This smoke stuff is getting old. I hope our new normal isn't expecting 20-30% of our days to be of marginal (or worse) air quality.
  12. I dunno, I think I like it more than 92 and humid with the AC running constantly. NYSEG certainly doesn't need the money.
  13. I went back and added it up, 2" (give or take a tenth) for the week. Not quite as low as I thought but nowhere near what I was hoping for.
  14. Re: Watertown area - I guess nothing to do depends on your perspective. There is everything outdoors, hiking, riding, skiing and it's not hard to get to some of the other cities for cultural things, shows, museums, etc. I'm looking forward to getting out of the Metro Area and having less to do, I'm even thinking it wouldn't be so bad to have to get a bigass snowblower so my aging self doesn't have to deal with the shitty side of snow removal. My wife doesn't necessarily agree
  15. Wow what a difference, I only got .4 yesterday bringing my week total to 1.4.
  16. I ended up with 1.01 between yesterday and overnight. Finally, a good solid soaking.
  17. Meh, .29 for the day (so far).
  18. Oh heck yeah, I got another .07! The street is already drying up.
  19. Rumble, rumble, crack as it gets dark. Waiting on the rain.
  20. I guess it's a good thing I didn't get my hopes up for rain today.
  21. I was wondering what's going on. I drive through at least once a week and the forest looks more haggard in sections of Dutchess and Columbia than anywhere else in the entire region. There are places where it looks like March not June.
  22. I finally got an actual wet day - .62! After a ground softening .17 yesterday and the overnight fog this actually did some good. It's wet a few inches down now and I'm seeing explosive growth in the yard. The pokeweed has grown 2-3 feet in the past couple of days. Are we really gonna be grey and wet most of the next 5 days?
