This is one of the nicest mornings we've had in a long time. I'm kind of disappointed I didn't go out and wander 'round in the woods for a few hours.
-
Last of the clouds have moved east, now it's time to dry out. It can't happen quickly enough...
-
Just had another heavy shower drop a quick .2
-
The thing is it wasn't a bust. I've always felt that forecasts are for potential over an area not for specific spots. I got skunked a bunch of times recently with a few tenths while others just a few miles away on either side got drenched and I didn't call "bust!" I mean, you're talking about distances of 50 miles or less, sometimes 5 miles will do it, it just depends on where the train sets up and how wide it is. Ehh, whatever. Let's see some dryness for a few days and we'll all be happy (except for Forky who'll be bummed because it's only gonna be 75°).

Bust bust bust, ahh bullshit. That was intense. The cross street at the end of my block looks like the local creeks after a hurricane, filled with debris and large branches that washed down the hill. It's not just about your backyards.
-
That was some of the most intense rain I've had in a while. Local stations range from 1.3>1.85 and it didn't rain for very long at all. Whoosh...
-
Geez that was some crazy heavy rain, got a super quick inch and a half.

Yesterday was the anomaly. The water was 5" deep on some of the roads I was driving on in Middle Island yesterday during some torrential downpours.

Damn. I guess I need to go spend some time out in the pine barrens, it's been way too long and now it's just a matter of time before they're forever changed. -
That was a pretty good storm around midnight. There was one simultaneous flash boom that was really intense, shook the house and woke everyone up, and scared the dog half out of her mind. She cowered under the dining room table for most of the last 5 hours and just came out, poor thing finally stopped shaking. Anyway, for all the hassle we got a whole big .5".

@LongBeachSurfFreakwhere were you? That's a pretty solid assortment of swimmy things.

I was out there on Tuesday, rode my fatbike from RM field 5 to Ocean Beach. The Burma Road road was wet for most of the stretches between the towns and firm enough where it's usually powder sand. There were stretches that were even a bit muddy. All in all it was a pretty easy 25 minute ride compared to what it usually is because of the rain they had recently. I thought I was gonna get a bunch of rain but only got .1. It's pretty gloomy out there though.

Looks like I'm about to get whacked. I thought that yesterday too ..

In the mountains of NW Colorado we were skiing a few inches of slush one day then 2 days later it was thigh deep cold fluff. We accessed it with Jeeps and Landcruisers, traded drivers so we could all get a few laps. It was the best September skiing I've ever done

Boy did I just skate through that first round. It was violent just a few miles west as it came in and they got hammered. A couple of stations 5-6 miles east of me are down and others have 1.5 and more while here, again, we got .2-.4 (probably tree cover variation) with a lot of wind and not much rain.
-
Good stuff! I was out and it got dark, all the lights were kicking on as the wind whipped up. When it started raining it was violently whipped in torrents with the lightning flashing all over. There's about 1.5" there now but 5 miles east, here at home, it's .2-.4 and east of here it drops off more before it ramps back up.
-
I got a dry gust front yesterday evening then .04 late at night. I didn't water yesterday but will probably have to today.
-
No, please not another wet week. This has been kinda nice.
-
Lol @ 1839. Can you imagine if it snowed in August now, people would lose their minds. Haha
-
What's the expected supermoon high tide supposed to be without the storm influence?
-
Yup. It will also help the foliage be better, too wet and it usually gets moldy as it changes then just falls off. Got a quick .25 this morning.
-
It's ok, we don't need the rain and as wet as the ground is we sure don't need the wind bringing down trees. A gentle transit through tropical storm season won't be a bad thing.

Wednesday sounds like a fun evening to have dinner at the restaurant at Jones Beach by the boardwalk.
