  1. So I'm picturing a Cat 4 or 5 energized by 95° water beating up the GOM, transiting FL while it's looking for some Gulf Stream Good Juice and then running up the coast, following that pretty red ribbon, hammering 50 million people in the US before restrengthening off the Canadian coast and causing outright mayhem as it sits and spins groovin' on the bathtub water. No?
  2. I'm up in Provincetown Mass. Last night was pretty wild with bands of heavy to torrential windblown driving rainshowers. We got caught walking a few times and in the worst round it was total driving by Braille. Fun stuff Today it's gorgeous but super humid and mid 80s. I love the beach...
  3. So far this first round has mostly split and gone around me. Less than .2 but there's a thin line that looks like it's gonna at least clip me.
  4. Try the Alaska coast. All the rain you could ever want, some of the most beautiful perfect weather ever and 100-500 inches of snow a year depending on the elevation of your house (or where you ski).
  5. There's an email link somewhere in the mesonet page, if you ask someone from the team will answer your questions. I've contacted them a few times and they've always replied.
  6. Range from 3.18 to 4.95 within a mile. I drove around looking at all of the different stations (that I could see from the street) within a mile or 2 today and all of them that were under that 3.2 were either under leafy trees or otherwise situated very poorly. Why are so many people so bad at something that should be fairly simple? The reason I've never gotten a station of my own is because I don't have a spot where I can do it properly.
  7. How about in less than 7 days
  8. I just had an intense core move over that dropped over 2" in 25 minutes. It's still pouring and adding up but damn, that was insane.
  9. It's dark like the last few minutes before sunrise with unending rumbling and the wind is building and starting to roar. Good shit.
  10. That large cell heading NE looks like it's gonna get most of us. Yay
  11. ~2.3 overnight. The range within 1 mile of my house is 1.7 to the south and 2.72 to the north.
  12. Stations within a mile of my house range from a low of 1.7 a mile south to a high of 2.72 a mile north since midnight. Ridin' that thin line...
  13. Passing 1" now with more super heavy rain and small hail. Thankfully the first round of hail didn't do any damage I can see but it was crazy loud.
  14. Passing 1" now. Guess I didn't need to water the hanging baskets yesterday huh.
  15. This was the most intense t-storm I've had in a long time here. It was certainly the most intense hailstorm in years and a great light and sound show. Our poor dog is still crying in bed, it sounded like a war with the hail hitting the house and she had a minor meltdown.
  16. Holy crap! This is an intense storm, insanely heavy rain, lotsa wind, near constant thunder and lightning and heavy large hail mixed in. Boom!
  17. I just watered a little while ago, the strawberries in hanging pots were starting to wilt.
  18. Yeah I did too. That's a lot of water moving through the park but I didn't see the destruction I expected. There was actually very little around town especially considering what I thought there'd be. Some spots where creeks feed into the lakes were messy with some roads still covered but all told I think we skated through this one.
  19. I heard 6N was closed. I bet the park at the corner of Hill St is a wreck.
  20. I just looked through a bunch of local stations, the range is from a low of ~6.5" to a high of 8.3. The streets are a mess from the runoff, there are branches, rocks and lots of gravel but otherwise it's not too bad at all but it sounds like a mess down in town and along the Croton River.
  21. Totals around my hill yesterday ranged from just over 5" to 6.2 and so far today it's from 1.5 to 1.8.
  22. Torrential downpour now, so loud it woke us up! 1.5" already today.
  23. Wow, is that water just about up to the barrier top? Damn. Pouring again here, approaching 4". One station on the north side at the bottom of the hill is almost at 5" now.
  24. The difference in amounts here shows exactly where the front is hung up. Within a mile to my west there's 1" more and 2 miles west is 2" more than 2 miles east of me. Just the difference from the NW side of the hill to the SE is over an inch. Pretty cool.
