What was Feb of this year? The one week I got 20.5" of snow and am dead center between NYC and Philly. I know the one storm was kind of fluky with the thin heavy snow strip, but that could have gotten NYC as well with the 12" if it was 15 miles more north.

43, coldest of season so far. Looking forward to the warm week and one last swim weekend.

Most scholors, Mets and pros online admit they don't really know, and muse on why the season has been quiet. Anyone's guess is just as valid as others, pick your fighter.

Thank you! I'll read this later.

Interesting from the one link there they say the Earth orbit made it so that the Sahara region became a desert 6-11 thousand years ago and before that is was lush and with lakes, etc. Is there any evidence of the earth's orbit possibly going back to resembling what it was back then?

This is from the American Met Society below. So to me it is just another hypothesis that might be correct because the information is sound, but it might also be 100% false. With doing pharma submissions for the whole world, we see peer reviewed stuff all the time that eventually turns out to be 100% wrong. Way to many times peer reviewed stuff is quoted and posted as gospel. Just because a paper was published after undergoing “peer review” does not make it absolutely correct or perfect, nor is it the final message on that idea.
-
Just because something is peer reviewed doesn't make it gospel. You can find 1000s of peer reviewed literature that is wrong. I see it all the time in the pharma world.

He's one person. But anything with recorrd warming, even if a small area, gets post 1000s of times by numerous outlets along with tons of hysteria and doom and gloom. It works both ways, but swayed wayyy more when warming is mentioned.
-
His posts always say he believes in CC. His point is and he always asks what is the catastrophic outcome of all the hysteria posts that get printed daily. There is zero accountability in the 100s of CC posts and articles. They make these claims that never come to fruition and then nothing because the scare tactic already worked. I see the one time you replied to him, he ripped you shreds then you hid like a coward and never answered the solid questions he asked back to you when he asked to supply specific evidence of the catastrophic claims. Post this on his feed instead of here where 5 people read it.

Figures, I leave town at like 3 pm and all hell breaks loose for an hour or so there. The pics on the Facebook pages are impressive.

Wow, just realized before my weather station went out because we lost power that I got a wind gust of 59.3 mph. That is the highest I've ever recorded in the 5 years that I've had it.

Yup, I was 1" below average. Plus, I'm loving the group think of a bad winter. Group think rarely pans out.

He seems obsessed with JB. No one ever mentions him here or quotes him. I think most realize he's been a joke for a decade plus now.

Long range forecasting is hard no matter what the season. Sometime reading indices and expecting XYZ to happen and then it actually produces ABC leaves many humbled.

yeah, I think our high school has their first football game this Friday, before the school year even starts. I have 2 Jr's this year and they were talking about wanting to go watch, but we are headed to Florida for a few days to end summer.
-
Here where I am in NJ we always start right after Labor Day. Has been that way forever. I did notice though that a few school nearby opened this week. That is pretty odd for NJ, but it has been a little more common lately. Speaking of snow days, last year my area had to use 2 of them for flooding, lol

Yeah, one hot day does not make your statement untrue.

Has the Euro-AIFS gotten any better? I feel like it was posted during the winter for possible storms in the NE and it kind of stunk. But maybe I am not remembering correctly.
-
How often is the Euro seasonal run? I see that one above is from Jan 5th. Was there one in Feb too for JJA and how did that do if it was run?
