  1. I don't necessarily disagree, but that would assume the entire nothern hemisphere is boiling? Right now, it appears some unusually warm air is trapped in the northwest atlantic, keeping us from being below normal in the present pattern? In winter, I can see how the southern Pacific jet iinjects warmer air into the continent, but I wouldn't think it would as pronounced in the summer months?
  2. I don't quite get it. Where is the warmth coming from in eastern Canada?
  3. Coastal flooding will be our "treat", but I'll be long gone beneath the ground by then...
  4. Looks like you are correct...
  5. Does this mean that the Labrador current is actually still intact?
  6. It's not that hot yet. Heat really wipes me out, but okay so far. It's been a dry heat, so far, so not so bad. Old people are supposed to like the heat, but not me. I melt.
  7. 0.01" of rain in Linden NJ for May 16th. Somehow I think the forecast was a tad off? Then again, the NWS has been changing their forecasts so often lately, that they might have had it right on one of the revisions...
  8. I would prefer this over being too warm, or unseasonably hot.
  9. Considering the temperature has been almost average...
  10. One of the 10 BEST days. I didn't waste my time trying to see the aurora last night. Between possible cloud cover and living in what used to be suburban NJ, there wasn't much of a chance...
  11. I guess the exact severity is impossible to forecast? I saw a media hyped headline, predicting (potential) internet blackouts.
  12. I guess a lot of it was drying up before it hit the ground.
  13. Am Weather sounds familiar, but can't remember a thing about it? Comcast in Union County NJ removed the full time weather/radar about 10 years ago. Maybe with everyone owning a smart phone, it was no longer really necessary?
  14. Everything in New Jersey bites...
  15. I would think fear of flooding basements is a higher priority to planting vegetables for some?
  16. Not sure, maybe becasue the growing season has not officially started?
  17. I suppose the official forecast was based solely on the models?
  18. Low 60s is mighty nice...
  19. Of course the long range models also predicted feet of snow for NYC several times this past winter?
  20. Speaking from a suspect memory, I seem to remember heat waves in the 1960s and 1970s, but then we would get cool fronts in between. Now it seems it gets hot, then hotter, then back to just hot?
  21. Stadiums can exaggerate the winds. I suppose if I wore a bubble jacket like George Costanza...
  22. I probably almost passed out last summer in Philly watching the Mets, no joke it was too hot. Now it would be too cold for me.
  23. I would have taken a winter parka, just in case the winds whipping around the stadium were too much?
