LWX AFD calls low max at 31, but I think they're talking about Thanksgiving day. I see the record for Nov 22 as 29; in 1880.
from Sterling:
Baltimore MD area
Year High Elapsed
2017 44 1 year
2013 38 5 years
2000 37 18 years
1996 33 22 years
1930 31 88 years
The high has not been lower than 31 on Thanksgiving since
official temperature record keeping began in 1872.
Seems strange that a place with an average of about 42 would so rarely hit 60.
I think our dam safety PMP is about 28" in 6 hours. Last I recall.
(Probable max precip)
Emptied 0.31 las night and have 0.87 in there now, so about consistent with others, (except Prince Frederick, but no surprise there).
49f ovrst dzl currently
My morning low was 42f. But, might get lower before midnight. Currently 43/41.
(And the air feels like that DP might drop. )
Very nice day here anyway.
Max DP was 74. Temp 85. T-storm landed 0.70"
Current 71/71
(Yea, I'm sorta showing off my humidity, but know it's nothing to be proud of.)
Can tell Daily Lurker is out of town, or he would have commented on that lightning crack earlier.
Finally got one good hit of T&L here. Started raining about 7:20 but rather distant thunder.
Not bad though.
Eta: Eh, dog went and hid in the closet. Baby.
I sure remember the 10/1079 snow, and it was the first game of the Orioles/Pirates World Series.
Os dominated first 3 and then fell apart to lose in 7. The unhittable Kent Tekulve, Pirates reliever. (Not sure I spelled that right. Pronounced tee-KUL-vee)
Remember the TV guy (possibly Vin Scully) joking that he looked outside in the morning and went downstairs to buy a paper to make sure this was really Baltimore.
His account came back on, but seems that either the whole thing was fake, or someone got hold of his account since it went off the air. Too bad. I was enjoying reading the posts.
Reason I checked back was a tweet from MHX indicating there was not much damage on Ocracoke.
