  1. yeah he's in Worcester at an elevation of 1500-2000 ft and well inland from the water-weather is nothing like that here...
  2. Definitely a regression to the mean occuring since 2018-the period from 2000-2018 was well above including 4 years in a row of 40+ for NYC and a few with 60+. Nowhere to go but down given our average of 25-30 inches around here...
  3. The 80's were almost famous for bitter cold and then rain 24 hrs later. Storm track was awful-either inland or well OTS.
  4. At least it would be something exciting...
  5. You didn't get anything in the Dec 2020 storm?
  6. Wet stretch here last few days. Nice to see the sun this morning.
  7. It definitely feels like we are sliding back into a stretch of crappy winters...last real long lasting arctic outbreak was 17-18 as well so it's been a torch on top of the bad snowfall years since then (except 20-21) Time will tell if this one breaks that stretch but I think some are rushing things....patience
  8. Exactly. Decembers in El nino years as usually terrible anyway. Too much rushing of the pattern here. Likely we get a good stretch in Jan or early Feb and hopefully a big snowstorm....
  9. Agreed. 15-16 took til mid january
  10. Good day to get Xmas stuff up here it’s 55 and partly sunny
  11. Yep there’s more to a good pattern than just Atlantic blocking. We went through this last December.
  12. Goes on too long there-snows into May-no thanks
  13. Tug Hill plateau. Tons of Lake Effect...problem is there is not much else there...
  14. People expect too much on the coast....we are lucky to get 3 inches in Dec...Jan/Feb/Mar better odds for the coast
  15. yep we got the good pattern to finally show up last March but too late in the season for most-white rain here from the 2 big storms while western MA had 20-30 inches
  16. Winter's going to be tough if we get alot of MJO 4-5-6 again....
  17. There should be no shortage of storms this winter. Just have to hope there's a decent cold air supply at times...
  18. depends on the year-2020 saw a mid Dec snowstorm only to be in the 60's on xmas eve
  19. That's all long range anyway. At 15-18 days out anything is possible...
  20. Yep the PAC doesn't want to play right now...
  21. True-have to go back to 1996 for a string of horrid years in a row
  22. Most of the time the best winds seem to come out of nowhere...
  23. that's about what I had here...winds gusted to 40-where was the wind advisory?
