  1. Similar to the Feb outbreak that froze Texas a couple years ago-we got a storm then but it was a mixed bag and the cold was run of the mill by the time it got here.
  2. it was in trouble from the get go when it kept getting pushed back-even now there's no true arctic air in the pattern...
  3. Ha! Not over but the evolution didn't go as planned. Maybe January will have some threats
  4. Cold following the storm is nothing crazy on xmas day:
  5. Move to Breckenridge CO no rain from Nov-April
  6. that's the problem it always looks good day 10-15 then it craps the bed medium term. This ended up being one of those warm -NAO patterns. Very similar to Dec 96....
  7. I'd be fine with this "pattern" breaking down, it has done nothing for us for the most part outside of some N and W areas
  8. different scenario models were OTS so the correction was NW-this is well NW now.
  9. Maybe even January...snowless decembers are never a good sign for winter....
  10. who cares we are all inside anyway...
  11. Classic Nina Cutter pattern....bunch of them in the late 90's too
  12. Pattern has been the same, cutter city. Why would it change?
  13. Brutal. Just can't win. Not over but not good trends GFS is an outlier but maybe the outlier scores a coup...
  14. umm because most models are moving AWAY from a snow solution?
  15. GFS an outlier. Given the pattern this month so far, the cutter/inland solution could be correct...
  16. Other models CMC and ICON are over MN-completely different evolution
  17. at least it's something exciting...
  18. This pattern is frustrating as all heck. Cutter after cutter....
  19. Airmass was marginal too-even places that got snow it was very elevation dependent almost like a spring storm...
  20. almost the entire state of North Dakota is under a blizzard warning.
  21. Thunder Ridge-my boys learned to ski there-some good memories. Definitely colder up that way...
  22. That Jan 78 storm was the Cleveland blizzard right? We rained on top of the initial blizzard that fell a week earlier?
