  1. This could end up being a wetter version of 01-02 or 11-12-both were snowless outside of a 7-10 day period in mid to late Jan where we got a moderate 3-5 inch storm.
  2. yep it's kick the can forward every few days...
  3. 01-02 had a 5-10 day window in mid Jan-maybe we get that....
  4. topped at 65 here-clouds rolling in now down to 64
  5. The run will change in 6 hrs. GFS OP past day 5 has been terrible
  6. must be a flow off the sound at BDR-only showing 55. I'm at 64 just south of the Merritt
  7. Where is snowman19? He should be here with bells on given this ratter.
  8. Good luck man. I don't see much. We've had a bunch of day 8-10 threats that have ALL gone poof. PAC jet for the loss not to mention a 3 year nina base state which favors the midwest and rockies. Can it change? Sure, but so far outside of a few days winter has been MIA.
  9. Dec 1980, Dec 1983 and Dec 1989 were arctic hound classics. Very little snow with them however.
  10. Ha. You are lucky. Dreadful is too kind of a word. It's not like how it is now where it's warm/wet. It was cold/dry following up by rain/warm then often back to cold dry. Other years were just incredible blowtorches from front to end. Models were horrific so there were many busts-a few good busts mixed in...
  11. my now 13 yrs olds were shocked winter of 19-20-all the previous winters they could remember had multiple snowstorms and great patterns
  12. I'm going to Breckenridge in early Feb-will see snow there for sure
  13. Classic Nina midwest-Rocky Mountain pattern
  14. cant even really say it's a cold rain either with temps around 50.
  15. there's good reason to...the PAC remains hostile and outside of the xmas outbreak arctic air has been non existent for the most part unless you're out west.
  16. I think I had 5 or 6 inches in that winter-one storm around 1/20 or so which seems to be the norm is real bad winters like 01-02, 11-12, etc
  17. getting shut out is tough...even the awful winter of 97-98 had a surprise 5 inch slopstorm in late march to ruin the futility record...
  18. Ha the ol Sunday run for booze...was crazy it took that long to get rid of the Sunday ban on alcohol here...
  19. winds were a bigger deal here but rains busted....some good sized limbs down around town.
  20. back roads maybe, but highways and secondary roads will dry out with the traffic
  21. Agree 100%. Analogs from colder period don't carry as much weight either....
  22. I think it's more venting about what turned out to be a crappy pattern for us...
