  1. Nice rains on east side of Columbia. Looks like the northern end of the DC storm built to the NE.
  2. It’s just about show-time in Columbia. Wind and low clouds moving in. Much cooler!
  3. Getting pounded in Columbia.
  4. Darkening skies to the SW. A few cells popping. Hit or miss for sure.
  5. Charlottesville, Va. now at 24 consecutive days of 90+ high temps (including 101 on 7/19/20).
  6. Pretty warm morning IMBY. Briefly dipped below 80 overnite (79.7) but awoke 5:30am to 80.5. Still time to drop just below 80 again before sunrise. Don't see too many mornings in this 'burb hanging around 80.
  7. 97 imby today, slightly warmer than my warmest day all last summer. And at 9:30, still a muggy, uncomfortable 88.2.

  10. I was up at 12:30 this morning. It was pouring, with minor thunder and maybe a couple brief lightning flashes. During the evening there was a fairly sold line of rain (lots of yellows and reds) moving east out from the Potomac Highlands. The line gradually began diminishing and breaking up, but there was one small red cell that survived and just happened to pass over Columbia. Location, location, location!!!
  11. First decent 20-min downpour in a while in Columbia.
  12. Heavy 10-min downpour with a cell that popped up in my ‘hood. Sun is back out.
  13. On east side of Columbia, a nice 20-min light rain on Tuesday mid-evening after 9pm. Just enuf to water all the greenery. The 3am cell gave me about 1/3", nice start to July.
  14. Yep, nice 2x rainbow from that earlier cell. Potential Columbia incoming from the cell stretching from Gaither to Dayton, heading SE.
  15. 0.76" with first storm. Temp fell from 88 to 71.
  16. Decent boomer ongoing in Columbia.
  17. My gage has been lowballing lately so was happy to see today’s measurement.
  18. 0.91” in about 45 min timespan along with one of the best lightning bolt/thunderclap combos in some time.
  19. here too on east side of Columbia, about 1/4 - 1/3" in 20 mins.
  20. 0.41” imby Thursday on east side of Columbia. Not great, but not a total miss either.
  21. Philly area has already been hit twice today.
  22. Missed the rain but it sure is nice out. Warm, good breeze, limited sun.
