    It's events like this when I rationalize to myself "at least it'll be easy to shovel" -- if I even have to shovel at all! Temp has rebounded slightly from 33 to 34 with lighter rates and higher ceilings/slightly brighter skies.

    Columbia, east side: Temp has fallen about 2 degrees to 34.7 with all snow. Grass is still green but with a white covering quickly taking over. Streets appear only wet from inside. Steady, mod snow.

    Columbia: In last hour rain with sloppy flakes .... has gone to all snow. Big, wet flakes. Temps fell from 36.8 to 35.1.

    Has been fairly continuous light snow showers blowing around all late afternoon and evening. Snow TV— or more accurately Snowlight TV.

    6:30am Columbia -- 28.1 4.6" thru Monday evening, but light snow most of the night and pretty decent band ongoing Tuesday morning.

    Also noticed the forecast beyond this event has turned notably chillier as well. They were talking 50s at end of the week but no more. Maybe further south in Va but not for B’more.

    Columbia, 8:45am: Starting day with 4" (but compacted now), plus all night FZDZ. 28.3 ATTM. Will be living vicariously thru my good friends in Middletown NY, expecting 18"-24". They are always in the sweet spot it seems, about 30 mins east from the N-ern tip of NJ (Milford, NJ) on I-84. NE of the Poconos, south of Catskills and smack in the Shawangunk Mtns.

    Been coming down moderate for a good 1/2 hr. Probably at least 3.5 now since at 4:00 I was 3. 26.6°

    4:15pm, Columbia east side: Just shoveled, snow feels much icier now. 27 degrees, lowest temp since dawn (got down to 25.6 during the night, but was 28 at dawn and topped out at 30 today) 3" of snow.

    I miss the old Unisys site’s 3-hr pressure change map. That would come in handy today to help ID the developing coastal’s general whereabouts. Has been snowing nicely again for past 45 mins.

    Snow picking up just a little. Fine flakes. Looks like it’s falling on an angle more from the NE now. Temp has dropped past few hours from 30 to 28. About/almost 2” eyeballing. Using windy.com, it looks like one low center is around Indianapolis and another near Columbia, SC. Best pressure falls between Va Tidewater and Charleston , SC.

    My bar is low: 4” bust, 10” boom for storm totals I’m happy if I only have to shovel 6”. 12” is more work, but I’ll be pleased either way. Daytime snow, ground is white. All good!

    East side of Columbia: Flakes began falling 7:30ish. Eyeballing about 1" or just a tad below. Returns lightened up ATTM, temp up from 28 to 29.
