  1. Just back from camping at New Germany State Park in eastern Garrett Cty -- not a single cicada!!!!!!
  2. 70 degrees IMBY at 6am -- nice!
  3. Observed what appeared to be melted snowflakes on car windshield heading on I-70-east at HoCo-Balto County line. Car thermometer was down to 44 at that time. Back up to 49 by the time I reached I-695.
  4. 8am Columbia -- been snowing lightly for a few minutes. Immediate deck stickage. Temp bottomed-out overnite at 26.1 Was 27 at dawn/6am. And 29 with snow onset.
  5. Columbia, Md. 2/21 at 7:15am: temp down to 17.8, clear skies and almost calm winds at sunrise (beats previous seasonal low of 19.1).
  6. 8am: Snow (!) in Columbia and 27.2°
  7. Windy.com wind vectors imply low pressure forming off the coast of Virginia Beach. Brighter skies have pushed temp from 25 to 27 here on east side of Columbia imby.

  11. Columbia, 7am: Looks like we may have started briefly as pre-dawn snow before changing to sleet/ZR. Temp down from 25.4 at 6am to 25.0 at 7am.
  12. Starry night above me. Calm wind. Great for temps until clouds arrive. Currently 27 at 9pm after high 32.8.
  13. Temp has fallen from 45 at 4pm .... to 35 at 6pm. So nice getting some fresh cold air 24 hrs before a storm.
  14. Back to normal: temp held at 33 with drizzle all night.
  15. Sidewalks and my side street iced over. Street is slippery but drive-able. 27.5°
  16. Columbia: temperature holding for a few hours at 27.9. Sleet and ZR.
  17. Columbia: Temp bottomed out at 26.8 after dawn. Rose to 27.4 with precip onset and hasn’t budged since. A little more sleet now IMBY.
  18. We need lots of “grains of salt” on those sidewalks.
  19. Columbia: Temps here have dropped a few tenths of a degree since dawn, down to 26.8 just before 8am.
  20. FYI -- for those asking about Route 32's alignment. So if someone says ice/snow mostly north of Rt 32, that can be misleading depending on where you are. It is clearly not an E-W alignment the way, say, Route 70 is.
  21. Even Houston is getting in on the icy action.
  22. Columbia, noon on 2/12: overcast w/a few flurries and 27.9°.
