  1. Went through a lull before when it mixes with sleet
  2. precip lightend up or I'm mixing with sleet and rain?
  3. Light snow in Dillsburg, dusting already, roads are becoming covered.
  4. Our first snow threat in a long time. I think everybody has a shot here. It might not work out but when there's a chance we track.
  5. 8 and 1 was weak?..what? 1 was very strong. 3 will be very strong.. Isn't phase 3 cold for January?
  6. What good did MJO phase 8 and 1 get us? MJO is way overated..It's just one tool.
  7. 600 hr GEFS?..Where did you pull this out from? 2 weeks is not even accurate.I know your trying to prove a point it's going to be warm. Fine, get it.It's a warm winter.Doesn't mean it can't snow in January.
  8. I don't care what the models say it will snow in January.I'll take climo anytime..not saying it will be a big storm, but snow will accumulate sometime in the month.
  9. Nope its going to snow sometime in January and February..Very unlikely we will just have a trace the next two months.
  10. And phase one is a cold phase for us..lol..so what does it really mean? Really can we say it's just a part of the equation..or maybe because of the strong nino it really doesn't matter?
  11. Well if MJO going into favorable phases doesn't work, what will? It's a total disaster if you like winter weather. I can;t imagine not getting a snowfall these next 2 and a half months. But I'm starting to think it's possible which is scary.
  12. That's unheard of for this time a year. Man what's going on?
  13. Back in the 70's and 80's a 3 inch snowstorm was a big deal..Believe me the climate between 02-18 was not NYC snow climate..Again it's not this bad..but 20 inches a year is common.
  14. Nope it was weak, 65-66 was strong..I just pointed this out because he said ALL ell nino's
  15. 66-67.95-96, and 10-11 were La Nina winters. As long as their not strong we can do fine..I'd rather have a strong La Nina then strong el nino..Strong el nino's are the worst..no cold air and strong pacific jet. However they are known for that one big snowstorm usually in late Jan or february.Example 83 and 16.
  16. If the 360hr ensemble forecast is correct..it can still snow with that look in Januray..although a trough in the west there is really no se ridge to speak of, unlike last year. I think it snows here the first half of January.
  17. Winter of 90-91 was very warm but it had near normal snow.
  18. Early January doesn't to me seemed challenged for snow...Looks like normal to a little bit below temps ..all you need is a SW..I don't know why that wouldn't work for this time of year.
