I deleted my own post, out of respect to people who come on here to read about weather but instead see a bunch of posts about covid. It did still get quoted by someone though.

I hate to say it, but I’d rather have record heat that week than record cold. Record cold that week would mean a miserable vacation.

I mean I would guess more Nats at this point, I was lurking in their thread and saw something about Max Scherzer awhile back and had to restrain myself really hard to avoid posting that video I posted in here yesterday of Jose Tabata leaning into a 2-2 pitch to break up Scherzer’s perfect game with two outs in the 9th.

I do everything on my phone these days. Don’t even have a functioning computer to my name other than my work computer (which has tracking software so I don’t run my hobbies through it).

Totally forgot to reply to this part in particular. Our WFH alarm goes off at 7 every morning. Typically I wake up (naturally) between 6:15 and 6:30, which gives me time to look at the overnight model runs (except the end of the 6z GFS) and the previous night’s sports scores and news while lying on my pillow before the alarm goes off. But I don’t think my wife would like me laying in bed on my phone like that, so it typically happens on mornings when she’s facing the other way.

We used to go for a week every summer when I was a kid and some friends of my parents rented them a cottage for $50 a night. Now it’s a lot more than that, but it’s a family vacation so it’s split several ways. As for the MA folk, they’re the reason it’s so expensive nowadays. First they stole our vacation spot, then NWS Baltimore/Washington stole Garrett County from NWS Pittsburgh. Ironically, the last time Pittsburgh hit 100 was on the day we were returning from one of those Deep Creek trips of my youth.

I’m sure some would enjoy that, but count me out. I’m at Deep Creek, MD that week so even if it gets to 100 here maybe I’ll only be dealing with 90 there.

Not worried about that. Would be horrific if a model showed that on day 3/4 but not at that range.

They were owned by Wendy’s for awhile so they had a footprint in areas close-ish to Columbus.

Ridging just doesn’t dominate in this pattern. Even some comfy nights for some of us later next week.

Sounds about right. Hanging out in the heat at the beach doesn’t lend itself to drinking heavy beer (as much as I love craft and it pains me to say this).
