  1. Well the next several days don’t sound like your kind of days (but they ain’t mine, either).
  2. 108.7 at Qurayyat, Oman on 6/25/2018 is listed as the “highest minimum temperature for a 24 hour period and calendar day. There’s also a “highest overnight low” of 111.6 at Khasab, Oman on 6/17/2017, which I assume means they dropped below the 108.7 before midnight. Note that these also both occurred within the last 5 years. Anyone who thinks there isn’t an issue is clinically insane.
  3. Good lord, yinz had quite the day yesterday. Hope all are safe and well.
  4. Definitely agree on this one. I’ve had this hunch for awhile now.
  5. @Bubbler86 Deep into GFS fantasy land, a nightmare emerges.
  6. I’m not prematurely declaring victory. Still a lot of July to go and when it’s all said and done you probably have a good shot at getting your positive July temperature departure for the 7th year in a row.
  7. Not sure where to put this, but Death Valley hit 130 yesterday, making it two years in a row of reaching possibly the hottest temperature credibly recorded on earth.
  8. No complaints here. Of course there will be some heat at some point, but I really feel if PIT never sees 95 (or MDT never sees 100), we dodged a bullet the way this summer is going elsewhere in the nation. And living in the present and not fantasy land, my DP is in the 50s and will likely remain there all day. Official low at the airport was 54 and weather stations near me went to ~52-53. Good shot at my 6th day this month with a high in the 70s after seeing none last July. Life is good.
  9. I’m usually on top of these ridiculous statistical anomalies, but today I learned that they recorded a low of 107 there on 7/12/2012.
  10. Indeed, it seems to like to produce the most extreme scenarios in the long term, and that’s a feat even by GFS standards.
  11. The dreaded 18z GFS did some 18z GFS things again.
  12. Here’s something to take seriously: today is the 19th day of (astronomical) summer. That means we’re already over 10% of the way to the winter solstice.
  13. A spectacular afternoon/evening with another incredible day on tap tomorrow. More of those bonus days that were so sorely missed last July.
  14. Oh the QPF panels aren’t great for me either (but I guess 2” in 16 days is pretty normal for July, and I don’t think anyone out here is thinking drought anytime soon), but I do get a lot of days with bearable temps and DPs in the 50s from that run and I think you do too. Even if other people get some even cooler days, any day with a dewpoint below 60 in July is a win in my book.
  15. Yeah, Dwayne Haskins has to be able to go full bore during training camp without having to worry about having a heatstroke so he can take that starting nod from Ben.
  16. It looks like it does even out in the long run while we sit under a dry, cool pattern and rain stays south. Maybe not a ton of rain but that would mean a lot of decent to magnificent days.
  17. But PA steals a fair amount of rain from the Mid-Atlantic, which is never a bad thing.
  18. Anyhow, toss. Not enough rain for Pillow with that solution.
  19. Looks a lot like the 12z GFS a week or so out.
  20. Can confirm. Another downpour here, it’s been the theme this week.
  21. Elsewhere, Las Vegas has a shot at an all time record this weekend.
  22. @Bubbler86how ‘bout that death ridge on the 18z for the 100inistas?
  23. Sounds like it’s training (thunderstorm) time.
