  1. Enjoy the weather we have now, including waking up tomorrow to probably the last below freezing temperatures of 2021.
  2. As a low sits over Lake Superior. Where have we seen this before?
  3. Speaking of frustration, the EC doesn’t suggest the pattern changes as the ball drops.
  4. Oops, hope I wasn’t unclear there. Well now @paweather can enjoy the 6z and 18z runs for added frustration!
  5. I’ll wait and do a 30 day trial when I believe a good portion isn’t going to be wasted on a crap pattern.
  6. TT is a less clunky user interface, but Pivotal’s maps are prettier if you ask me.
  7. I stubbornly only use Pivotal, but I’m too much of a cheapskate to spend actual money on the subscription part.
  8. EC has the p-type line in an interesting spot at onset of precip Monday morning:
  9. The other thing that’s mildly interesting is how far out of agreement the GFS is on Monday. GFS suggests wintry precip, everything else puts PA firmly in the warm sector.
  10. The one where the “STUPID ORANGE” advances into the MDT area.
  11. I could see it. Looks like MDT easily blew past its forecast high of 42 today.
  12. I see that. But make no mistake about it, next week is shaping up to be a torchfest so the long range is the only game in town.
  13. I’d still classify the long range part of this GFS as “good”.
  14. And as always, the ridge wins its battle against the trough.
  15. Yeah looks actually decent. A nice trackable D13 threat.
  16. Weak, disorganized and looks like it’ll be pushed south.
  17. The STUPID GREEN exits the area on the 12z GFS right around the time the ball drops.
  18. 12z GFS is running, for anyone who wants to torture themselves.
  19. It’s only a matter of time until we choose a new place to post about for months. Maybe it’ll be one of those.
  20. No all expenses paid trips to your choice of: Pillow, Paw Paw, the Palouse or the Skook?
  21. Wait, so the Skook isn’t just the place, it’s also the residents of said place?
  22. I think it’s more likely that the temperature stays above freezing for the entire period between Christmas and New Year’s (as both the 0z Euro and GFS except for one panel depict) than that there’s any real winter weather chance to track. But I do like where the GFS is going a day or two after the new year. Hopefully that doesn’t get wiped away at 12z.
  23. Appears it was Vancouver and not Torino but the rest of your post is as solid as that pillar.
