    The more I look at model runs, the more I think this number will be 0 or 1.

    The age-old debate of would you rather have a week of very uncomfortable weather or several weeks of somewhat uncomfortable weather?

    Look at the diurnal range during that period in 2007. It generally ran around 25 degrees. That doesn’t scream high humidity to me. I looked at the dewpoints during that stretch, and it looks like the last 2 days or so of the heat it went into the mid 60s. We’re already running a string longer than that.

    I don’t remember that warm stretch in ‘07 being anywhere near this humid either.

    Quite the storm this evening. One of the better light shows this year.

    A departure pushing +7 already could balloon to +10 by mid-month. This talk/model trend about zonal/slight ridging probably means an average to slightly above second half (suppose that’s maybe +2). 10+2 = 12 / 2 = +6. That puts things in the ballpark of record territory for you guys.

    Not holding my breath on that until it’s here. Models have screwed us way too many times this fall.

    That’s fairly consistent with what a lot of runs of the GFS have been showing, unfortunately.

    Still appears it brings highs in the 60s by the end of its run.

    Sometimes a good GFS run is on par with a solid nooner.
