  1. Figures, it looked better to start things, definitely better than prior Nam runs...the icy look continues it seems
  2. Nam looking a bit better at least early on for us on the souther end of things...definitely a snowier look to start out Tuesday morning.
  3. I see 5's running along 84 from Danbury up to your neck of the woods...must be wrong
  4. hopefully we can pick up at least an inch before it starts....Nothing like glaze on top of mud
  5. Yeah, the past 5 years of living here I have come to realize any N to NE wind in this type of system despite what the models are showing, I rarely touch freezing here. Even the storm at the beginning of the month was suppose to hit 35-37 and it touch 32.4 before dropping back down.
  6. I'm sitting nicely right by that bullseye, it will most likely end up east of here. It seems like that is where it always ends up. But we shall see..still below freezing here, 27.0° atm
  7. Lol at those temps 7 pm on Sunday the 22, a whopping 1°
  8. 5 days out, but the surface cold locks in and actually filters in from the NNE down here....definitely an icy look this far out
  9. It has been quite persistent in that storm in one shape or another for days...so who knows, blind squirrel hopefully finding that nut
  10. The giant melting ice cube that is Greenland is keeping this region cooler than the surrounding regions for now... Lookout when the shelf melts completely!
  11. And just like that, the 6z GFS might of just gotten a clue for early next week...Hopefully it has the right idea for the storm after the storm, after the storm (next weekend)...lol
  12. Snow starting to wind down, maybe an extra 0.2" of fluff, call it 3.7" total...temp dropped again, down to 26.8°
  13. snow coming down nicely now with that final band pushing through, snow growth isn't great, but areas on the deck that I cleared earlier are now covered again....maybe a quick push for 4" total here, temp down to 28.1°
  14. with today, 7.8"...I won't complain at all, but....lol
  15. Except for us in the SW portion of the area....I think we need one of those canal runners to catch up
  16. 56° yesterday afternoon to 28.3° this morning and just measured 3.5" of snow. Which was more than what we had in the second half of the storm at the beginning of the month.
  17. Not saying it is right, but that is another cold air mass showing up on the GFS later next week. Seems like these air masses keep showing after the hint of a lower 48 wide blowtorch that end up being 1-2 days worth of warm sector....
  18. Oh I know and fully expect it to continue that through day 5 at least.... It was nice seeing that strong high pressure sitting around the area and not way out in the Atlantic at this time frame.
  19. Great job GFS at shifting our snowstorm 500+ miles to the west in one cycle....
  20. It seems like the only surprise at this point is going to be that we actually get more than just a slushy inch or 2 on grassy surfaces. Seems like maybe a small area might see 2-3 inches, probably eastern areas....Some lucky person might measure 4 inches on their deck
  21. I am certainly an amateur, but when the Hi res models show lake effect streamers coming through NY state by this evening, that usually doesn't bode well for snow here. The dry air is going to eat anythjng coming up the coast here. 2-4 inches of shredded virga coming....
  22. Euro starting at hour 198 would make a lot of people in SNE quite happy....
  23. One can't say things aren't active. At least the pattern isn't cold and dry, we can save that for January. We are going to somehow end up wayyy above average in the snowfall department for the Month and probably season, but still end up with above to much above normal for the season in the temp department. Maybe we should enjoy this climate changing "period" before it shifts into the way too warm to snow portion...
  24. everyone complaining about this month, I actually still have snow on the ground, 7 days in a row to be exact....not bad for the first week of December.
  25. The GEFS at 6z looked great out west starting around day 7....Who knows, it is the GEFS, but something to watch at least, better than the blow torch many were expecting to happen after this initial cold snap....If that cold does end up coming the middle of the month, then fully expect the Grinch right on time!
