  1. I know it is early, but it would be nice to track something in December. Even if it isn't a massive blizzard, 4-8 inches across the entire region would be nice. I know its the ICON, but it does have a similar look to the GFS. Did the GFS and a few other models pickup on that Mid Atlantic blizzard in 2016 like 5 days out? That has a transient Greenland block if I recall....
  2. I'm pretty much in the bullseye right now, so that means either nothing at all or all rain....
  3. Euro looking good so far for the 1st....
  4. Didn't someone have a theory on where the low enters the west coast, it will leave at the same lat on the east coast?
  5. Had a few mangled snowflakes at the tail end, just dumped the Stratus, 1.41" of rain....current temp is 36.9°
  6. no love back here, but we did go from 41 to 37 in 30 minutes.....might see some flakes with the heavier echoes before the precip lifts out
  7. Born and raised in Lancaster, I family sending pictures of their snow covered yards asking me where the snow is up there? Lol
  8. My hometown in southern PA is flipping over to snow right now with accumulations....not sure if that was forecasted there, but maybe some surprises later on?
  9. Goofus with a 965 mb South of Long Island on the 2nd. I am sure that is going to happen...lol
  10. No blockbusters needed at this point, can we please just get a nice 4-8 inch storm with some cold around. Is that really too much to ask for? Lol
  11. I know it is early, but it just reminds me of that storm in 2016? We finally got a nice period of blocking and the Mid Atlantic got the storm, just before the block went away....That season 2015/2016 was pretty terrible down this way if I recall.
  12. I am pretty sure we can lock that Day 10 storm in the Mid Atlantic on the GFS. Throw in a nice Greenland block and they are sure to score the first snowstorm of the season, even if it is December 2nd....
  13. At least with that EPO look, the air is coming from colder areas rather than the Pac ocean....
  14. I moved up here in Dec 2014 and am still waiting for something more than 16.....my last big storm was February 2010 living in central Delaware.
  15. Sign me up for the 6z GEFS, a solid -NAO with ridging in the EPO region showing up just after day 10...
  16. yup, a November torch is definitely not wanted around here....50s/30s would be great until Turkey Day
  17. This is why a normal to slightly above normal is much better for November, no need to waste so much money on heating the house with so little chance of snowfall...Today despite the colder weather is the first day my humidifiers are not running, since the end of October it seems. The misery mist is good for something at least.
  18. Thankfully this wasn't in the middle of winter when we were expecting 6-12 inches of snow with an offshore coastal...only to fade away to dustings and stray flakes...
  19. Short term, the models continue to show the upper level feature strengthening as it swings through tomorrow night....Euro actually show a band of snow in the Western areas of SNE, maybe even a flashover to snow down this way?
  20. Law of averages with a touch of climate change says December is +7ish and knowing the ways thing have been we will some how sneak in a warning event that melts the next day...
  21. The dewpoints are going to be near 0, 24 hrs prior to this storm...I would also think a block to the north would help keep that cold in a bit longer?
  22. Another cold morning, dipped down to 21.6° after the clouds cleared out....will feel great today with temps near 50
  23. GFS has the perfect forecast for here at 18z, 33 and rain...
  24. Did we just get punted into the Mid Atlantic?
  25. 15.1° for the low, lowest of the season so far....ground is a solid rock already
