I was just looking over the water temps all around south of Long Island, no wonder all of these systems end up warmer than forecasted with little snow or sleet to start. Low to mid 40s this late into winter is not helping....

I had 8.4" combined between January and February last year, 4.3" so far this January/February, but actually had more in the Nov event (8") in 2018 than we did in Dec this season (4"), we got skunked down here for that one...I don't know, just feels like 2 ratter years in a row down here

Snowfall wise, this season reminds me of last year...very little snow in January/February, a true bookends season if somehow March delivers again this year.

39 with fog/mist this morning after yesterday's rain and what looks to be mostly rain on Thursday. Then lows near zero Saturday morning, I think I have mentally checked out. I need some sun, everyone around town has the flu. Bring on Spring please...or KU I guess

nice, the ground has a coating, but nothing close to an inch. We have actually had 5 trace or coatings in the past week, but all have melted an hour later...still sitting at 14 inches for the season

that warmup was short lasting, 50s for maybe an hour, back down to 45....pressure up to 976.8 mb and rising. Wind was impressive, heard a few trees in the woods going down

I was about to mention that "storm" showing up with the perfect timing. We are all in full melt at the moment, minus those in NNE. That storm is going to pummel the Mid Atlantic, leaving us high and try with the perfectly timed streak....

Outside of a Hail Mary, I don't see anything, but I am no Met. Any glimmers of hope are quickly extinguished as is this winter....

I didn't experience 2011/2012 around here, but besides the October snowstorm that year ratted. This year seems similar except we had 10-15 days in December instead. Still sitting at 14 inches on February 7th with nothing exciting in the next 10+ days....

I mean, we have scored snow in patterns that we should have not gotten snow in...Those ratter years of past seemed to have a lack of precip or were just so warm with absolultely no cold nearby that we knew that nothing was coming. I just can't see how we don't get "lucky" with some transient block or well timed shortwave. I guess I am looking at things from the glass half full perspective today...

and to add insult to the injuries sustained already, that snap occurs in April, not March....At least we can snow and snow a lot in March

The end of the GEFS the past 2 runs have been a full on PAC puke pattern, at this point hopefully it's right, I would assume that would put an end to winter if that was the case?
