  1. Yeah, bad timing for sure. Just updated my sig with totals. TH is running 30" above normal for snow this year. Been a good year for skiers, snowmobilers, etc. Saw my first robin yesterday in the snow. It flew into my porch, and was making a ruckus trying to get out. It couldn't figure out that the window wasn't going to let it through, at least for a few minutes. It finally figured it out, and flew out the door. LOL
  2. Sounds like my April 2013 when we got 50".
  3. 5" here in town, with a general 3-7" around the area. Pretty decent snow for mid-April.
  4. And so it begins. Snow just starting here.
  5. Very cold this morning. Near record/record low temps, with snow on tap for tonight. Happy Easter everyone. (at least to those that recognize the time as different faiths don't of course) TH - 20 (T3rd) Duluth - 21 (T7th) Hibbing - 14 (3rd) I-Falls - 11 (T1st) 2020 at this time was similar, but just slightly less cold. Still a lot of snow in the country, especially the forested areas, so that helped under the calm conditions.
  6. Someone must have gifted him a pound of weed at X-mas, cause he sure has been a giddy, red-eyed, can't see straight kinda fella this year. Dude, do ya know what time it is? LOL Take a good long sleep man, geez!
  7. Trying to keep up here with forecasts 2-3 months out. So for Father's Day/Juneteenth it looks like a front moving in bring showers, and storms with a boundary in the southern sub bringing some weather there too.
  8. Pretty close call I'd say. I have the front moving in a little quicker, tho, on Easter Sunday.
  9. Thanks man, its been rough ride this past year and a half. My mom, then my youngest boy, a good friend, and now my father-in-law. Reaper been close by as of late. But they aren't complaining now, as Paradise is chill time for them, and they wouldn't want to come back for anything.
  10. JINGLE BELLS, JINGLE BELLS OHH, I forgot its almost Easter I think. Snowing out again today. 30 for a high tomorrow, maybe. Old man winter has been on steroids since X-mas. Snow Squall threat today, mainly just to my south.
  11. Coating of snow on the grass this evening. Another crappy day on tap for tomorrow, then a chilly Easter weekend ahead. My father-in-law(ex) passed away on Sunday. His funeral is Saturday. Good man. Very close to my second oldest son. Hard days for the family this week, with a bummer of an Easter weekend.
  12. Winds have settled down, and the rain has turned over to snow. Just a cold, gray, miserable day. Homemade soup on the stove cooking right now. Good stuff for the wx I'm having today.
  13. We had about 0.4" of rain here in town (0.46" at Arpt), and the winds have picked back up a bit after the strong gale yesterday into the night subsided. There running up to 35-40 mph off the Lake today. 50 mph gusts easy yesterday. With the rain, and melting snow, Gooseberry Falls is roaring right now. All the rivers running strong today. The trout and smelt runs should get going strong here soon.
  14. Winds howlin off the Lake up to 45-50 mph. Been having rain all afternoon into the evening. Heavy rain looks to be on its way, but most of it may end up in WI. Update: winds still howlin, and garbage cans a flyin LOL
  15. About 2-3" of snow yesterday around the area with the Ashland/Bayfield WI area receiving 6-10" or a little more. Was still snowing at report times for this area this morning. Looks like more rn/sn mix heading into next week.
  16. Here's the modeled SWE. Quite a bit like you said. Even my way. Looks like 2019, and especially 2013, and 2014 were the last time we have seen SWE like this at this date.
  17. Yeah, that's about the same depth at the 7NW site here. Lots of water ready to soak in the ground, and run off. Edit: 7NW just updated, they are at 30" depth now after the snow yesterday. They got 8".
  18. March prelim data is in, showing a pretty average month for the Midwest. Colder in the northern areas, and warmer in the southern areas.
  19. Snowing here right now. Looking for a couple inches today, and maybe a couple more tonight. Looks like the south shore of the Big Water in for a good snow. Still have old snow on the ground here in town. A testament to the snow of this past winter, and the cooler spring so far. Usually here in town, because it's so open, the snow melts off pretty quickly.
  20. 3-6" of slop around here with higher totals in some areas to the north of up to 12". Round 2 begins tonight as the low slowly moves eastward. Lesser amounts forecast with a general 1-3" to top it off.
  21. WSW for NE MN. Rain to snow. Couple inches for me here in town.
  22. Looks like we had about 1/2-1" of snow last night into this morning in town with 2-3" reports away from the Lake. WSWtch out for NE MN Tues eve into Wed eve. Sloppy April weather. Rn/Sn with possible thunder. MNZ012-020-021-042115- /O.NEW.KDLH.WS.A.0007.220406T0000Z-220407T0000Z/ Northern Cook and Lake-Southern Lake-Southern Cook- Including the cities of Isabella, Two Harbors, Silver Bay, and Grand Marais 401 AM CDT Mon Apr 4 2022 ...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING... * WHAT...Heavy wet snow possible. 23. April 2013 had Duluth, and TH 7NW at 50+" with 27" here in town for the month. That was incredible. It snowed for 2 weeks. Every couple days we had measurable snow during the 2nd & 3rd weeks of that month. Duluth, MN 2013 50.8 1950 31.6 2014 26.3 1961 24.4 1983 23.7 Two Harbors, MN (in town) 1950 29.3 2013 27.3 1909 20.0 2014 19.5 1933 18.0 Two Harbors 7NW (1998 -present) 2013 51.8 2014 25.3 2003 18.8 2018 17.7 2008 15.8
  24. I have low pressure moving in, and was anticipating it to be a little more robust than what is going to move through. This would have been a great call for March 30 wx tho. Oh well, this was a so-so call. Onward to the Easter time frame.
  25. Couple inches of fluffy snow this morning as the system winds down here. Sticking a little in the trees. Heard my first Canadian goose this morning, so they are starting to return. Rn/sn/ice/ca goose. It's officially Spring
