  1. Weather for this day will be starting on the 28th of April, and exiting on the 1st of May. So I'm off on the timing of this event. And there will be some snow in the northern areas.
  2. Cool, wet weekend on tap starting tonight. A little snow in the mix, but nothing major. Typical weather for this time of year, although I see the UP not quite done with wintery weather yet. Could be a decent snow hit there. Well, I had my turn for the last big hit a few days ago, now they get theirs.
  3. Banner snows for the shore NE of me, but still 6-10" in the higher terrain outside of town with 3-4" in town. Had lots of sleet mix in during the aftn wave that went through here closer to the lake. Looks like 6-8" west of me. A good Spring snow storm to end the season. Still could see a little more here and there until mid May, but the bigger stuff should be over now. TH 7NW set their record snow season with this storm as well. Banner snow year around Western Lake Superior.
  4. Close call here. Still a lingering low over Lake Superior with attending troughs swinging around. Cooler with a little mixed precip possible.
  5. 1.5" of wet snow here this morning, and Duluth finally achieved its record snow season. Windy day, too, with gusts 40+. 6. Ugly weather on tap starting today. Higher terrain could have some issues with ice tomorrow. Will see how close TH 7NW can get to their record snow season (6.3" needed). Duluth has this one with only 0.4" needed.
  7. Not hard to see where the banding set up with this system. There was a very narrow band that set up just west of me that put down 8" across the Iron Range. Pretty cool. More snow later this week my way with another 3-6" possible. Duluth record going to broken easy, and just maybe TH 7NW. @OrdlowPitMsp still may have a little powder at Lutsen next weekend if that's still on.
  8. Looks like a general 1-3" around the head of the lake with 6-8" being reported on the Iron Range W/NW of me. Still snowing that way too, but it's a narrow band. Duluth picked up 3.3", so they are within an inch of beating the snow season record.
  9. ~1" of snow here this morning, and under a WSW for Lake, and Cook counties. Could end up with 3-6" here by tomorrow morning, but I'm right on the edge so we'll see what happens. South shore getting slammed with a foot or better tonight.
  10. Well, Duluth will be inching a little closer to snow season record. As I mentioned in an earlier post here, April will have some surprises. Some light rain moving through right now, but later tonight into tomorrow will be the the wintery scenario, especially WI into the UP MI, and maybe even MSP.
  11. Very nice here. Low to mid 60's the last couple days with some low 70's being reported in the area.. Cooler by the lake with mid 50's, but that's normal. Today going to be another warm one in the upper 60's - low 70's, but reality hits with the coming storm passage for a chance of snow this weekend, especially into Monday. LOL But that's more normal mid April weather.
  12. Posted this a few months ago in the Holiday 2022 thread for July 4, 2023. That approaching front should stir things up for the evening in the western sub with rising temps.
  13. My forecast for Father's Day, and Juneteenth (18th & 19th). Exiting front with high pressure moving in keeping things pleasant, although a little cool across the lakes. More shower/storm potential moving in from the west. There may still be a stationary boundary affecting the southern sub, tho.
  14. Happy Easter everyone. Hope your weekend has been good.
  15. Yeah, temps are going to be well above normal for a few days. As long as we don't get heavy rain on top of the quick melting, we should be OK.
  16. Good call here. Some showers with poss thunder moving through.
  17. 43 here today. Went to my daughter's for Easter meal with family. Sun was warm. Felt good.
  18. 50's n 60's next week will feel nice. Rapid snowmelt, tho, will cause flooding issues. High water content with a robust snowpack this year. Duluth needs 4.1" of snow to beat their record, and TH 7NW needs 8.5". Going to be tight, but still have a 4 week window, or so, to do it in, and Duluth would be an easier reach.
  19. Prelim data in for March. Pretty avg. Charts are 5/10 yr trends respectively.
  20. Looks like 2-6" for the shore this morning. Drifted pretty good for a while early on, but snow became a little more wet, and mixed with sleet during the wee hours. I had 5" while co-op only reported 2" at the lakeshore this morning. I reported in at midnight, but the sleet, very wet light snow mix compacted it down while adding, so still 5". And as I'm writing this, another band of mod snow moving through for garnish LOL
  21. Just had a band of thundersleet move through. Pea-sized stuff. Pretty cool. Don't get see that very often, or thundersnow.
  22. Heavy snow band moved in with winds 40+. Vis down to 1 block. Very cool! 1/2 block now with very heavy snow Vis dropped to 100" or so at one point. That was a very cool snow band with the wind. Hope to see a little more of that today before things get too warm later tonight.
  23. Forecast hasn't changed. N WI is under ice storm warning, so it could get pretty ugly for them. I-Falls under blizzard warning. Rare for them. I'm curious to see how the forecast for the shore actually turns out.
  24. Staring tomorrow, looks like I'll be dealing with high winds off the lake, snow, frz rn. What a mess! Looks like 3-6" plus 0.25" of ice with it. Possible thunder in the mix, too. AARGH. Western areas of the state into the Dakotas going to get hammered with 1-2' of snow and high winds. My granddaughter lives an hour south of Fargo, so she's in the bullseye for serious blizzard conditions.
