  1. 96 BWI so far, 94 IAD/DCA. 94.8 at home, but now in and out of clouds halting the rise
  2. Third time’s a charm. Now it is pouring.
  3. I’m not dying for rain like others, but come on
  4. Still firing off of boundaries. A cell going up just S of me where the other one was earlier.
  5. 95 DCA 97 IAD 99 BWI 96.3 high of the year at home
  6. Evidently I need you to send it my way! It’s like I can reach out and touch it…
  7. Just south of me. 0.01”. Thunder is loud though.
  8. HI has been to 106 at IAD. That’s pretty damn unpleasant.
  9. NAM and HRRR are struggling with the storms up in PA.
  10. The hair flip is a nice touch. IAD/DCA hanging around 92-93. BWI in the 94-96 range.
  11. Big range of temps for tomorrow. Per usual this summer the models have been hot trash on max temps, so 94ish seems most likely.
  12. On the edge of the cell that is popping up along 66 inside the Beltway. Rain pulses and then stops.
  13. Thought it was an interesting sky with the shelf and the sun behind, but under, the storm. Quick 0.30”
  14. Interesting to only have a 5 degrees high/low spread today at DCA. -10 on the high, but above normal on the low.
  15. Not too bad. As you can see from the picture, I ended up mounting the camera on my anemometer pole which I’ve had up for almost a decade. I have two different roof levels, the lower one with the roofline going to the chimney is over a carport. It is pretty easy to get up there and get to the peak roofline. I have it as a gable-end mount via this type of pole (https://ambientweather.com/amwewe.html). I have an 8-camera Reolink surveillance system. Power-over-Ethernet so I did spend a good amount of time in the attic and crimping my own ends on the cables. The run to the “skycam” was actually a lot easier because I could go out the attic vent. The impact on the neighbors is negligible because the elevation distance going that direction means that the closer neighbors aren’t in the line of sight. They know I have other cameras too, but I’m friends with all of them so that makes it more comfortable. And none of them are pointed directly at another house.
  16. DCA now 91/75 for the peak HI of the day of 103.
  17. I was only commenting on how today’s run at 100 was a bust. However, since I’m here I will reiterate that there is nothing wrong with DCA’s obs other than being a river site in an urban area.
  18. IAD to 43 mph with the outflow.
