People don't realize how rare 2009-10 is. There's a higher chance of 2020 ending than 2009-10 happening again.

Yes, that may be true but wouldn't the smoke dissolve and get mixed out before it has a chance to affect the winter? What if the wildfires stop a month before the winter?

All the smoke from the wildfires is so widespread globally (massive fires in California but also even bigger fires in Siberia that arent getting enough media attention) that it's gotta be cooling the Earth by a tenth of a degree celsius or so. Maybe even more.

Seems like it's either all or nothing during mod ninas, but a better chance of cold. Mod Nina winters are the coldest.

I'll take a front loaded winter if it means lots of snow and lucking out on a couple warning criteria snowstorms before summer begins in March

Gotta be the most lightning we've ever had in a very long time. Constant round after round after round of lightning. The third storm was actually the most intense in terms of lightning here, surprisingly. Perfect conditions came together for multiple rounds

Love how it starts to split as soon as it nears my house. Plenty close enough for loud booms here and there. Constant low rolling thunder now. Edit: Complete split. Just moderate rain atm. Heavy occasionally but not much else. Final grade looks to be a D+

Gonna get a shellacking here it seems. Can already hear the thunder. Couple bolts shot out pretty far from the main storm. Dangerous even if you are miles away.
