  1. I have cracked open a 90 minute IPA to watch the destruction from a distance.
  2. Current temp is 145 degreees with a DP of 96. Heat index 217F. Latest mesoanalysis has 20,000 J/kg of SBCAPE but a strong cap with -200 CINH. The saving grace is strong multidirectional shear of 150 knots which once the cap breaks, cloud tops of -200C are possible with storms breaking the 150,000 foot cloud tops mark.
  3. The NWS might not have us under an excessive heat warning but we tend to overperform with heat indexes giving us excessive warning criteria.

  5. Just in time for the 32 degree high on Thanksgiving with 70 and rainy on Christmas as we enter another non-winter
  6. When's the next time we're gonna get an 80/50 temp/dp split? Seems like that never happens anymore here in the dog days.

  8. D.C has highs in the 90s in every day of the forecast now with mid-upper 90s during the Sat-Wed period
  9. Rocket launch from NASA Wallops island, went outside and I could see the rocket lifting off from my backyard (vapor trail)
  10. Only a month and three weeks before the leaves start changing in NNE

  14. D.C's 90 streak might end tomorrow

  17. 90/75 here at the local Goldsboro UHI
  18. Tropical Storm Gonzalo this afternoon?
  19. Where have we seen this before?
  20. Heatwave isn't nearly as impressive as it was a few days ago.
  21. Suns coming out and damn these clouds are moving quick. Most PWS in D.C are 88/89
  22. Pattern still remains on track for prolonged sustained heat beginning late this weekend and peaking late next week into the week after. Forecast has low to mid 90s Saturday and Sunday. Monday and Tuesday look to be right at 90 or a little above then the furnace gets cranking mid-week
