  1. As has been discussed ad nauseam, the high is in the historical exact place for NC snowstorms. It's becoming tiresome to hear mets parrot this falsehood. Hr. 66 GFS: Eastern NC getting absolutely pummeled.
  2. Some really poor analysis mixed in here. Folks, if you don't know what you're talking about, refrain from analyzing.
  3. The point being that cold transport can work. 1989 cold followed days after the snow began.
  4. Both the 1973 and 1989 coastal N.C. snowstorms featured high pressure near South Dakota/Iowa. FYI.
  5. And still snowing in eastern N.C. at the end. It’s a footer down east.
  6. Looks like Kinston to New Bern, NC is the place to be for this one.

  10. Both Euro and GFS seem to be targeting just north of ILM for Thursday. Actually good consistency in showing frozen there.
  11. They're accurate when they show us with no snow -- 100%.
  12. Snow on OBX beaches before we get one would be the cherry on top for us this winter.
  13. Wilson is actually in northern NC. Only about 3.5 hours from DC.
  14. The upside is the ice in the Arctic is at one of its largest extents in recent history.
  15. Did DCA not finish with above normal season snow last year?
