If anyone outside of the mountains sees snow this dreadful winter, I will eat my hat. It’s time for spring.

Yeah, sorry I don’t believe south central Georgia does better than portions of NC and VA

Boone, folks

As I said, I like Boone for this. Although I guess that’s a safe bet for 90% of southeast storms.

More like false spring followed by winter in April and May
Difference is: it still gets dark at 8 o’clock, Sun is strong, and “cold” then is like 64.

We really need to just kill this winter with fire. It's not gonna happen. The flow is so progressive, cold air never has a chance to be established. The only definite thing is tons of rain is coming. Especially GA and SC.
Don’t worry, it’ll all be over in 33 days.

The clock is running and we may get a pattern shift just in time for rain and 40s in March lol.
There’s a subset of posters that like to convince themselves that RDU’s climo is 1876 Pittsburgh and we’re all good.

37 days. Each year, I begin this thread to count down and document first signs of spring. Up next, in a few weeks, daffodils will begin to emerge and bloom, followed by Bradford Pears and other fruit trees.
Let the countdown begin! Here’s to March 1!

38 days until met spring

Who wants cold in March?
-
I want a cold February for two reasons: 1) Snow, obviously; but perhaps more importantly 2) Spring to begin on-time in March.

We’re already punting to February at this point.

Bradford Pears will be blooming in 7 weeks

This is a western Maryland deal, much less NC. Just a subjective opinion taking into account the inevitable NW trend.
