Has there ever been a major hurricane that wasn’t retired after a US landfall? This one might be a candidate to avoid retirement based on early returns
Fake major. This was not catastrophic by any measure.

Man this place died off after landfall
-
Have to say, the footage from near landfall points has not been impressive at all.

Yeah, not seeing that.
Read every other sentence talking about cat 5s. It’s laughable.

By the same coin, you’ve got numerous who are convinced this thing is going to be the next Camille for no reason.

Along with banter, I wish a lot of the wishcasting would be left out of the main thread…

They just said 100, but that’s not based on findings

Even if the models prove accurate, Idalia’s strongest winds by far are in the SE quadrant presently. I can’t imagine a scenario where Tampa Bay region avoids seriously damaging surge as it moves toward the big bend or even Tallahassee
And should stay that way, particularly near landfall when sw shear picks up. Saw mention of potential for halfcane or oddly shaped presentation.

Awesome! Maybe we can hold onto the 70s a few more weeks

Glad everyone can get a chance to enjoy the greatest season

I see a bunch of mid 70s to mid 80s on my 384 hour GFS

22 for the low this morning high of 39 and a forecasted low of 18 tomorrow. Spring blows!
Move to civilization

It’s 55.2 at my house. High was forecast to be 50. Hard to defeat late March sun angle.

Why the hell are you on a weather board then... where 99% of the people love and wish for snow?
I like snow in winter. Winter is over.

These wild swings within a few days are what makes the non-summer and especially winter months much more interesting to me as regards forecasting than the doldrums of summer.
KATL ended up with a low above the forecasted high 20s, 31. Tonight should be colder there and in most of the SE, the coldest of the month to date in much of the SE although probably not here and nearby.
Idk Ga. I like mixing margaritas in the blender, floating in the pool, and playing golf in shorts and sleeves. But that’s just me.

Still looking like mid-80s by end of the week with sunset after 7:30. Welcome to spring!

How does one simply flip a switch and go straight to warm weather. The last 3 low temp readings here have been 24, 24, and 22 this morning?
I hope you go into hibernation this warm season and wake up again in November. You clearly can’t accept that spring is a real thing and it is here.

Bottomed out at 28.6 this morning. Currently rising at 29.7. Was this the coldest morning we’ll see before next fall?
Most likely yes looking at the LR.

I’d like to complain about the change from 80s turned into 60s for daytime highs in Florida during this pattern. We’re having to use the heater again and it’s uncomfortably cool for my taste. We don’t get snow, so there’s no reason to champion chilly patterns here. It’s just uncomfortable and it’s unlikely many people on this sub are going to get real snow out of this.
We had like 2 weeks of 80s up until this week and I had been mistaken that we were home free from using the heater anymore
If people were being honest with themselves, they’d accept that it’ll be April in two weeks and this is over. It’s time to switch seasons and thinking.

If it doesn’t pass through the first Hebert box, color me skeptical about EC potential
