    Today was the first 40 degree day at MSP since the early morning hours of December 23rd before the pre Christmas blizzard hit.

    Areas of east TX and LA have had more snow on the season then International Falls MN!

    You can really see areas up north are struggling this year in the snow department.

    Mood flakes with periods of -SN most of the day. Not adding up to a whole lot, but a solid 0.5" to freshen everything up before the melt begins tomorrow will be nice.

    Sorry to hear that. In 2018 when we got 39” in February squirrels used the deep snow to get into our house through the pvc sump pump vent normally 3.5’ off the ground. They wrecked havoc to our wooden window sills trying to chew their way out.

    Average February 2021 temperature in Minneapolis is 2.4F No doubt this will rise in the coming days, but an impressive first 2/3 of the month.

    Made it down to -1 here so below zero 13 of the past 14 days. Starting to notice it getting light at 6:30am when I get to the office.

    Light snow/mood flakes all night and into the morning put down another 0.2" of fluff. Did keep temperatures in check and our first night above zero since February 4th. Nice dendrites look to be floating down all day.

    High of 9 today with 0.6” of snow.

    Light snow all morning with a temp around 2-4. Warmest it's snowed in almost two weeks. Probably will end up around 0.5"

    Only managed to get down to -3 here as cloud cover kept us relatively warm. Trade off is mood flakes all day.

    Per the NWS at MSP: 281 consecutive hours with a windchill of zero or below. 2/4-2/16 116 consecutive hours with an air temperature of zero or below. 2/11-2/16 225 cumulative hours spent below zero in February so far. (Most since 1936)

    Yeah I’m not worried about it. We are only about 2” ahead of norm to date. Our time will come again, and the deep prolonged cold was enjoyable. I was just trying to remind you that we all can’t cash in all the time and although it’s frustrating watching big dog totals come in a county away I’m sure within the next 5 years you’ll see a foot in early December and Alec will have cold rain and dust at the end.

    11 degrees under full sun this afternoon. Feels comfortable outdoors.
