  1. Biggest totals from the MSP coverage area
  2. Finished with 5” imby in south minneapolis. Some of the fluffiest snow I can recall in awhile. It’ll be interested to see what the ratios are.
  3. Absolutely incredible skiing today at Welch Village 12mi west of Red Wing MN. I’d estimate 8” with silver dollar flakes falling.
  4. Going to be a large spread in totals across the TC metro. Southern burbs should cash in nicely. I think I’ll be sitting in a transition zone ~20 miles north of the better totals, but it’s close enough that model watching is useless at this point.
  5. -2F currently, clearing made its way further east then anticipated and temps really plummeted
  6. Hi res models and the GFS have shifted back north and put twin cities in line for heavier snow. I love chaos at the 11th hour
  7. My call is going to bust high. Probably more like 1-3” in the metro
  8. 0.4” with the wave overnight, 1-1.5” in western suburbs and just a dusting northeast metro. Enough to freshen up the glacier.
  9. NAM giving me some hope but I sense a painfully close whiff to the south. Congrats Albert Lea
  10. Going to have to break out the powder skis for the back bowl at Welch Village ski area Sunday morning. 40 miles south of msp should mean an additional couple inches
  11. My gut says euro is too far north and this is more of an I-90 special in MN. First call 2.9” imby
  12. Lost a couple inches of snow in the weekend warm up. 5” snow depth and no thaws in sight. Wednesday we will fall behind on snowfall for the season. 35.4” as we sit now.
  13. The sky is a strange color (blue) and there is a warm orange ball in the sky. What’s going on? I miss my pastel gray....
  14. 0.5" but melting off cleared surfaces now as temps creep up to 32-33F. NWS office out in western burbs recorded 1.5"
  15. Solid weenie band developed over the west metro. SWS issued, DAB so far but could see close to an inch over the next few hours as it rolls through.
  16. Winnipeg also has had two days this month where the high failed to go above 0F.
  17. That’s why I advocate Minneapolis as a reasonable compromise city for those who love winter weather but need to support a family. Snowcover since November 26, frozen lakes that just hosted a large national pond hockey tournament...and it’s been a mild with average snowfall. You be you Beavis.
  18. Above average snowpack up north especially along the north shore. Sitting at 8” imby and zzzzzz for the foreseeable future.
  19. Great read through the last few pages after work.
