Wowzers! The "noise" is in here! I stepped away for a day and catching up on 15 pages of model waffling and wailing was painful. But hey, nobody suffers like the SE forum. So I'm proud of all of you. Well done. On another note, I'm riding the GFS to the end. Bring me my 3-5 inches of fluff please!

The farm is 15 miles east of Mt Airy so 3.5" there is certainly possible. I would say there is 2" in Stuart. (And a few Does enjoying the snow)

The end is coming quick. Just flipped to sleet and drizzle to the west of you. We had those big flakes for the last 30 mins or so. Very cool surprise!

Rates are high enough in Kernersville that the pavement and cars finally caved. Accumulations underway!

Well this is certainly overperforming. Flakes are large! Ground is pretty much covered except for pavement. Nice to watch anyway. Still sitting at 31° in the triad.

Already covered the gravel drive and grass in Stuart. Just cold enough 40 miles north of the triad to get the job done. Very wet here in Kernersville. But covering the mulch. I'll take what I can get at this point.

Nice...leave it south for another 72 hours and keep bringing the cold. We're already winning on surface temps and the developing snow pack to the north. Pieces just might fall into place!

I think the hope we have, if any, is that we are still far from model consensus. But it sure does feel like the odds are not in favor of the phase we need to see. Near miss again.

Local forecast for the Triad did a complete 180° flip as well. Went from snow/ice to all rain, no transition. Couple more days of model runs and this casserole will be fully baked.

Vortex means business. Suppression city. Nothing but pixie dust falling from Carolina Blue skies. I honestly don't ever recall 6+ inches being modeled for northern FL. Anyone know top of mind the most snow ever in one event in FL?

Oh, you can almost imagine it can't you? The "pipe busting cold" moderates into a 40s and drizzle. That movie has at least a hundred sequels. Somebody said it yesterday I think. Delay a couple of times and we'll be talking about Fab Feb in no time. I'm most concerned about our mountain folks though. They simply don't need that kind of modeled cold right now. It wouldn't be survivable in the tiny homes that have been installed in many locations.

Snowing in the triad in Kernersville!! About dang time. Update - ground is already covered!! Wake up people! Just let the dogs out to play. Second update - did the alien invasion scheduled for tomorrow come early and take the forum?? This is an epic overproducer for anyone with a snow craving. I'm shocked this forum is not wide awake!!
